He often comes in to the conservatory at night via the cat flap. And kips in a floppy cat house (at night)
Which has always been fine. During the day has the whole house (the cat doesn't live with us "we" live with the cat!)
But we've gone full hog. Bought him this... New fleece in there, and a vet heat mat on a timer (we told you he gets spoilt!) And he loves it.
(The wife squealed when she saw him using it!)
Can't grumble for the money.
Like others have said...not sure out would be totally weather proof with the felt roof...but otherwise, it's fine.
Mr Chunkles is happy with it...so we're happy with it!

Update: cat has found it and uses it nightly and especially in bad weather. Cedar smell gone. I used a medium thick transparency film to make a wind and rain screen/ cat flap to keep the inner bed dry. Took the ramp off to make it lie flush and reduce drafts (very important). Works great. Added a thicker styrofoam insulation to the walls and taped the seams with insulation tape. I know that is overkill, but I have some left over. To reduce the likelihood of condensation or moisture building up and wetting the bedding I have added another layer of insulating film. My system has done well in severe weather (including very bad windstorms, pouring rain, and cold weather). The transparency keeps the heat in and the elements out. I check it for excess moisture every few days, but I am finding that just one dry day every now and then is enough to keep it healthy in there.
Tips: Location is important. Put it in a place they will feel safe and the rain won’t flood in. I have tested it in this weeks rainstorms. You need to add a porch, a flap, or put it somewhere out of the wind and rain. If you do that, it will stay dry in even pouring rain. If you want a warming pad, I found those white cheap self heating fleece pads (the ones the suggest you buy together) don’t absorb water so they are great in an outdoor house. If you want to weatherproof but only want to buy 1 cheap nontoxic item without fumes or prep: buy a big bottle of some outdoor grade wood glue. Paint the whole box with a generous layer of glue. Add extra glue to seal the gaps. Do this using the box it came in as a tarp and you won’t risk gluing your cat house to your floor. It will go white in heavy rain but that hardly matters.

It comes flat packed, and the hubster had it put together in minutes using only a screw driver. We didn’t fit the hinge as we lined the box with insulation boards. It looks good, it’s sturdy and well made. Very happy with it as is the cat 🐈
