However...why oh why do you have to press a button to switch it on and off? Normally lights operate this way, but as this is plugged in to your Xbox USB port when you shut the console down the lights stay on unless you go to the rear of your console, right at the bottom on the stand and press a tiny button!
Utter madness! You can't even plug it in to a separate WiFi operated smart plug as the on off switch is not one that's perminant it just cycles each press.
I'll be returning it for this reason sadly... Absolutely pointless unless you want to go back to 1986 and have to press a button to switch it on!
Also I tried the type C usb connection but that doesn't work at all, the lights will not switch on using the type C cable, so I tried a usb extender and plugged it into the mains with my Samsung plug adapter, now that worked BUT if you switch it off at the mains and switch the mains back on again you have to press the button on the lights again to switch them back on and nor only that it completely resets the light settings back to the basic green you get when you first set them up.
All in all very frustrating, they could of made it so much easier by either putting the power button on the front of the stand or allowing it to turn off when you turn your xbox off.
There are multiple colours to choose from, which you cycle through via buttons at the back of the stand (see my video - it's pretty simple), and there is also the on/off switch at the back too.
It was really simple to get set-up out the box, so I can safely recommend this to anyone that is looking to bring a bit of extra light to their Series X!

It was really simple to get set-up out the box, so I can safely recommend this to anyone that is looking to bring a bit of extra light to their Series X!

As is common with product pictures by the manufacturer, they are enhanced a bit. The glow of light issued by the stand appears to reach halfway up the Xbox casing. The reality is that there is a ring of light that extends upwards about 2cm - that’s at the brightest setting.
No instructions come with the stand other than a card pointing you to their website. I went there to see if there was something I had missed, but there are no user instructions for this product online yet.
Another disappointment is that the light doesn’t turn off when the Xbox goes into standby. If you want to kill the light, you have to reach around the back of the stand and push the button. At leat that’s what I think is meant to happen. I tried all the buttons, but the light stayed on. It only went out when I unplugged the stand from the Xbox.
Poor product.
Setting up is simple and straightforward, taking less than a minute to do. The stand has to be plugged into a USB port, but there is a supposed USB throughport on the stand itself (more on this later).
Don't be fooled by the advertising pictures, the LED lights are no where near as bright as illustrated. There is a button, that changes the brightness in 5 steps, but even on the brightest setting, it barely lights up 2cm on the series X and gets no where near half way up like the illustration.
The colour range is half decent and makes a mediocre attempt at the colour change cycle.
Now back to the biggest issue, the USB port. As any series x owner is aware, USB ports are at a premium. The stand takes up a valuable port, and offers a throughport, but the USB on the stand cannot power what is plugged into it. In my case, I had to remove an external hard drive to plug in the stand, then plugged my external HD into the throughport on the stand. My series x informs me that it can see the drive but weak insufficient power to use it.
There is no decision making for me, an external HD is far more important than a pound shop, dim colour change torch.
