Had an issue with the wheel scraping against the stand

So as soon as I got the wheel I realized it was scraping against the stand, or the cage when I popped it into the bars. It made the wheel slow and extra noisy. I realized you can "pop" the back wall of the wheel making the attachment poke further out and voila! No more scraping. Added a video to show what I mean :)

I'm delighted with this wheel. I received a plain black one and not the green one in the picture which was a bit of a shame, however the wheel itself has actually changed our lives! My young male Syrian hamster Kenneth has a large hamster Heaven cage and was at first happy in it, however the Rolly Wheel that came with it was not to his liking as it doesn't turn properly so he completely stopped using it and started to get stressed out and bored. He started chewing on the cage bars literally all night long in the most violent manner, none of us were getting any sleep and I was worried sick about him damaging his teeth and also possibly escaping. Anyway I needed to do something fast so I ordered the Trixie Wheel after reading good reviews. And Kenny loves it. He runs for hours in it, and the bar chewing has stopped completely. I'm so pleased. Hammy is much happier now and the wheel is so quiet that it doesn't keep us awake at night. I 100 percent recommend this great product as it's simply awesome. It's huge but hamsters don't like being squashed in lttle wheels where their back gets curved.

Wheel hits against stand making loud noises

Very disappointed . I bought two of these for my two male Syrians ( kept in separate cages of course ). The sizing is great for them but the product is not silent or quiet , the wheel hits against the stand when it’s in motion causing banging.
As you can see in my video I DIY’d a quick fix until I can buy another wheel elsewhere .
There is a gap in the wheels main attachment causing it to bend and tap the stand repeatedly . Yes I’ve seen some people be able to ‘pop’ the back of the wheel bending the plastic but unfortunately mine did not stay popped out and popped right back . Be aware that you might have to do some DIY with this wheel as both wheels I bought had the same issue .

Fantastic wheel for Syrian hamsters!

I bought two of these wheels for my Syrian hamsters after reading that the wheels usually sold for hamsters are too small for them and can cause them back pain from having to bend to run on them.

It delights me to report that these wheels have been incredibly received by both my hamsters. Previously they had avoided using the wheels that came in their cages, and generally been quite inactive. However, once I put these wheels in, both immediately took to them and started running right away - they love them, and have made it part of their daily routines to go for a run in them.

They do squeak slightly, but as we keep our hamsters in the living room away from where we sleep, this isn't a problem at all! You can also mount these on the side of cages rather than using the slightly wobbly stand that comes with them, but in hamster cages this is easier said than done. My hamsters haven't managed to knock them over yet though, so I'm happy that the stand does its job of supporting such a big wheel.

If you've got Syrian hamsters, this is the wheel to have - highly recommended, and honestly I'd never buy a smaller wheel again, the difference is night and day in terms of how happy our hamsters are, and I'm sure yours will be the same!

This wheel doesn’t spin well.. very disappointed with the product. Please watch the video of my hamster struggling to manoeuvre in the wheel. My hamster has to put in A LOT of effort for it to move, even so the wheel doesn’t spin much. A waste of money..

My syrian hamster is OBSESSED with his new Trixie wheel. I decided to buy one as the silent spinner he has is too small for him now and he was having to arch his back to use it. This looked uncomfortable for him so I got this beast! ......he just loves it!!! I got it to go in the cage but I must have miscalculated the dimensions as it won't fit (measure carefully folks...this wheel is HUGE!!!!!).....but, I use it when he comes out of his cage to play and he's never out of it!!! He's actually chomping at the bit to get out of his cage at night now to go in it...as soon as he's out, he runs to his wheel and apart from the odd 10 second rest, he runs and runs in it. I've attached a pic! Get one...your hammy will love you for it!!

We have been battling with the noise of Comfort Wheels for over 4 years. They had become so noisy in recent months that I put out a plea on a hamster forum. The Trixie wheel was recommended and I will never look back!! SO QUIET!!!
All you can hear is the pitter-patter of little feet as it goes round. Our hamsters took to them immediately and love to run and run.
We ordered two and were supplied with a black/grey one and a green/blue one.
We have these for syrian hamsters - the 28cm is the perfect size - do not get anything smaller.
Our hamsters are in Savic Hamster Haven cages and whilst you can't fix these wheels to the cage walls of these particular (purely because of the slanting base of the cage - the wheel rubs), we have them free-standing on the supplied stand and they are sturdy and secure.One can physically remove the stand to fix this wheel to cage bars though, it just doesn't fit in these cages.
