BACSHIELD is a commonly used silver-ion technology that provides antimicrobial product protection against unwanted microbes, recognised for centuries with no harmful effects. It works by preventing the growth of unwanted microbes that can cause product degradation, discolouration, staining or odour. This is achieved with silver ions, preventing microbes from multiplying.

Particularly like the end with holes in, which allows baby to eat mushed rice, vegetables etc. Very easy to hold on to all over, which leads to baby looking for more food on the 'wrong' end quite a lot, but that's on her.
Really appreciate that they come two to a packet, as the easiest way to get them to let go of an empty spoon in order to give them more food is to present a pre-loaded second one for a swap.
Haven't tried these in the dishwasher but the anti-bacterial properties give me confidence to 5-second-rule them from the floor and handwash in the washing up, just like grownup cutlery.
Strongly recommend!

My daughter is 11 months and feeds herself with her hands very well but I wanted to try her with a spoon, she finds it quite uncomfortable to hold in the middle and if she holds it at one end the other end ends up poking her in the eye. I put mine in the dishwasher but I can imagine if you wash by hand it will require a bit of a scrub to get any dried on bits out of the nooks. I think the key with these is maybe to get them using these spoons from early weaning stages.

Is not a bad product but our baby wasn’t interested. I think it is easy for the baby to grab but I’m not sure about the actual spoon, too flat.I think the other Tommee tippee spoons with rounded edges works much better.

Excellent - 15 month old loves his new independence and he can get through a whole yoghurt by himself with these. So much easier when they can't quite figure out the angle of a spoon yet. Obviously only effective for sticky food or purees. Wish I'd found them when my daughter was a baby!

The spoon bit is not quite a spoon and the masher is not quite good

My son loves it though, I have tried to mash some fruits with the masher bit and I am not sure if it worked because of force or because of the design. It's difficult to mash and once you do it, it must be washed right away otherwise it will crust and it will be impossible to clean because of all the little grooves.

I got these to help our weaning journey and the end with holes in does offer something a bit different to an ordinary spoon - food squishes through it for baby to eat - but they’re also quite long, plasticky (as expected I guess) and the moulding is quite chunky for little mouths. So all in all I’m not convinced.
