BUT !! the good old people at Amazon gave me a full refund so no problems, am on the look out for another petrol can, It was no big drama as i was in my own garage could have been a problem if your using it stuck on the side of the road. Hopefully my can was supplied with the washer missing so it was a one off, but just check before you use it !!

On filling up it was leaking from cap area and it was as tight as I could get it.
The funnel section extremely difficult to get on the threaded section and when tightened as far as it would go, you could still move the spout section.
Very flimsily made looking at it. Sorry that I threw away my old red one that I had, was far better made. Spend a couple of more pounds and go for a better one.
Would I recommend this to anyone, NO CHANCE, STAY CLEAR OF THIS PETROL CAN, TETRACAN MODEL.
The spout, however, leaves a lot to be desired. The spout locates into the can with a tapered fitting and no matter how tight you screw it on, the spout is still not fully secured and fuel can drip out of the joint.
I added a rubber o-ring under the spout nut which allows the nut to be more fully tightened down and make a better seal with the can. Fortunately, I have a number of o-rings to hand but Joe Average should not have to modify something that should be designed to dispense fuel in a safe fashion. (And I'm not sure how long the o-ring may last is contact with petrol).
A one-piece spout with a moulded securing nut and internal seal (similar to the cap) would be a better solution.
I tried interchanging both spouts on both cans and got the same result, a waggle.
I short, they are fine if you want to store petrol in them and already have a funnel, if you want to pour petrol
using the supplied spout then forget it.
I have tried to clean the thread on the green can a little with a sharp knife but although the black cap does now go on I can't stop it leaking.
For collecting petrol from the garage and transporting home to go straight into the mower I guess it will suffice but I wouldn't want to keep any fuel in it longer than a couple of hours.
Guess I should send it back but for the pennies it cost it's not worth the effort. Lesson learnt.
