Repaired and faulty item sold as a new item

I bought and inflated one of these but the next morning it had gone flat. I inflated it again and could feel air escaping and upon further investigation I found that a patch had been applied and the air was escaping from the edge of that patch. Therefore, this was not a new item but a repaired faulty item being passed off as a new one.The photos show the location of the patch. You can clearly see the edge and this is where the air was escaping.I was extremely concerned and disappointed that a faulty item was supplied to me originally under the guise of a new one. I’m pretty sure this must be a breach of UK consumer legislation.Amazon replaced it, but when I wrote to them to point out the problem, they offered to send a new one. I told them not to because they already had, but they did anyway and they’ve charged me for two now!
