I absolutely love this hoover - well worth the money. I actually hoovered the stairs today for the first time in years (husband usually does it) the bottom bit comes off, you can rest it on each step and the lead is really long! I don't normally write reviews but this is bloody brilliant! Can't fault it.

The hoover suction isn’t great, which is disappointing as I’ve heard so many good things about shark hoovers. It struggles to even pick up the smallest of crumbs on occasions.

It is also very heavy and clunky to move around in carpet.

I wouldn’t recommend this product personally, and certainly can see the difference going from a Dyson to a Shark.

The only plus I can confidently give the hoover is that it was very easy to assemble upon purchasing.

Suction too strong for carpets

We are returning this vacuum. My daughter bought a Shark vacuum about 3 or 4 years ago and recommended them to us. Her model no longer seems available so we got the NV602 UK. It is excellent on our hard floors but despite turning the suction down to minimum, I was unable to push it on the carpets. My husband made some progress on our older carpets but couldn't push it on our newer ones. The suction control is just a short slider switch on this model, the one on my daughter's is quite a bit bigger and has a lo more holes.

My last vacuum lasted 17 years. I was very loyal to that company because of it but when I went online to purchase another I couldn't justify the prices. I looked around, saw all the reviews of this product and took a gamble. I LOVE IT!
Thanks to everyone who takes the time to write reviews ... I didn't have time to browse for hours and had to rely on other people's genuine reviews, so here's my input.
This vacuum is excellent. I've given it 5 stars, not just for the product but the quick delivery, great packaging and an easy transaction. I thought the floor was clean until I used this vacuum, the lights help see in darker places (no surprise there!) and this has been a huge help. The design is really impressive, being able to take the lighter part to do the stairs means I no longer have to haul a vacuum with me.
I'd read one or two negative reviews and the main complaint was that the suction was too strong. It isn't too strong for me and I've arthritis and back issues. This vacuum is lightweight, easy to use, versatile and I am delighted with it and have no problem giving it 5stars.

Isn’t fit for purpose and a stupid design

It isn’t very good.
Bought another one first. And needed a second. So bought this model.
The suction is so strong that Lino is pulled up and the vacuum cleaner will not lift off the floor. Again with carpet it isn’t so great as suction is that strong on new and older carpets that the machine won’t move with ease.
This product really should be taken off the market as not fit for purpose.
The seller was fantastic so we can only rate them as five star and above.
For the machine it’s been a waste of money.
I may even contact Shark to ask how they can sell this.
I never leave reviews but I wanted people to know that it’s incapable of cleaning with ease.

Machine is so stiff it’s impossible to push on our carpet. I been a lover of shark for around 3 years now and thought I would upgrade my current on.
There is no self drive with this machine meaning it’s hard to push just as much as a Henry would be! I’m sure to having the hoover do all the work. The machine feels sooo cheap!!! Not like my old one!
It’s flimsy as anything! Don’t waste your time, Also Amazon’s returns is just as useless!
Buy a second hand one on eBay!

Extremely difficult to move on carpets owing to lack of adjustment of cleaning head

Overall poor design. The machine does not provided the basic flexibility of adjustment required in a cleaner. The poor features are:
1. Lack of adjustment in cleaning head height which results in unacceptable difficulty in pushing machine over carpet areas. unfortunately this has led to our carpets being damaged because machine has remained in a location before it can be switched off and moved.
2. The on/selection switch is located too low.
3. The suction adjustment control is in the wrong location and often gets moved during normal handling of machine.
4. Power lead cover is made of cheap plastic and is very stiff to move around.
5. Lack of suitable hooks to quickly wrap power lead round.

Way long enough for my stairs and incredible suction cleaning

I really felt I had to write a review as I picked up on a few negative comments and they can really put you off buying a product. I really wasn't expecting such a powerful and multi-functioning cleaner. 6 months ago I had new carpet put in and I've had hundreds of those annoying fluff bits sitting on the top all that time! My strongest cordless just washed over them and it never had a powerful clean. I used Max mode and it picked up every bit and all my carpet looks as if it's just been put in - I'm SO pleased! Because nothing has been as powerful, each room picked up a full dust cup making each room look like they'd been cleaned professionally. Another thing I was worried about were the comments about the cord not being long enough to do the stairs - if you live in a normal terrace like me, with 2 medium flights, it's absolutely perfect... and the suction on the stairs is again incredible. Yes, on Max its a bit tough to push, but how else are you going to get the muck up! To avoid paying silly prices, a little more 'push' is well worth it. I really think this is excellent value for money - it's sturdy, everything makes sense when you're working out where to put things (little guides are all over the body of the machine) and is so usefully multi-functional. Only tiny downside is the bit about not being able to push it under sofas etc, but I can't see how to avoid that if you're buying it for the lift-away function which is so helpful on the stairs. Also a few people commented about it sucking up the rugs... but on a low setting it works fine on mine. Don't let these tiny comments put you off... the main reason I buy a vacuum is to keep my carpets looking fresh, dust free, pet hair free, and clean... and that's what this does. I'd recommend going for this model :-)
