Unfortunately I didn't notice any improvement taking these sachets out on a run in comparison to having nothing at all. It would be hard to say they do what they say unless you complete a scientific study - which I am not in the habit of doing. However for me, I felt no benefit from 'swallowing' one. That is my next issue - they don't taste or feel particularly great. It is almost jelly like and when taking one it just feels more wrong than right, with an unusual taste that I wouldn't say is particularly pleasant, but not god awful either.
To be blunt you probably don't need to be taking these as I don't feel they are a good substitute for water as advertised. Probably just for the placebo effect.
As always, they give a quick burst to your energy levels, so if you're at the end of a long ride/run and need something to take you through the last stretch home they're ideal. Easy to eat on the move, however when opening sometimes the tear-off bit comes off completely and some accidental littering can occur. If you're not too aggressive with opening it's easy to avoid though.
The flavour is... palatable. As with most, if not all, of this type of product, they're designed to be consumed, not enjoyed. It's a very sweet, slightly fake-orange flavour.
I would recommend this product, not for long term nutrition, but for a quick and easy pick-up. It can also be useful for emergency rations/in a first aid kit.
Unfortunately I did not word any enchancment taking these sachets out on a run in evaluation to having nothing at all. It would be difficult to say they do what they say except you whole a scientific find out about - which I am now not in the addiction of doing. However for me, I felt no advantage from 'swallowing' one. That is my next problem - they do not style or sense in particular great. It is nearly jelly like and when taking one it simply feels greater incorrect than right, with an uncommon style that I would not say is specially pleasant, however now not god lousy either.
To be blunt you likely do not want to be taking these as I do not sense they are a properly alternative for water as advertised. Probably simply for the placebo effect.
Long story short - give me them a shot but be wary as they might not be suitable for everyone.
Don't order too many, mine arrived with circa 6 months left on best before date ( in the supermarket you probably pay more, but they typically have nearly twice that on the date, obviously not a concern unless you're buying in bulk like I was.)
