Product description
Product Description
Scholl fungal nail treatment is an easy to use, 2-in-1 treatment system. It has been developed by experts at Scholl to offer consumers an effective way of treating fungal nail infections. Topical treatments are a common and effective way of killing mild fungal nail as it may progress to become more severe, at which point it is important to consult a healthcare professional. Treating fungal nail can be frustrating as it is often a lengthy process and the infection can recur. It can also take a long time for the nail’s appearance to show any signs of improvement. The 2-in-one treatment from Scholl designed to ease this frustration. The easy-to-use device is scientifically proven to effectively treat nail fungus, help prevent the spread and recurrence of infection and help improve the appearance of the nail. It is a two-step treatment system, comprising of five disposable nail files along with an ‘Nail Liquid’ that has been developed to effectively treat fungal nail infections and help prevent the spread of infection and recurrence. The first step is the treatment phase, to treat the fungus over 4 weeks. The next step is the protection phase which lasts until the nail has grown-out to help protect the nails against re-infection.
What causes fungal nail infections?
Fungal nail infection occurs when the nail structure (toenails or fingernails) becomes infected by a fungus. Slight damage to the nail’s protective structures, by trauma or disease, can create an entry portal for these bodies to invade. The infection may involve any part of the nail structure including the nail plate or the nail bed.
What does it look like?
Fungal nail infections can look unpleasant because the nail becomes thickened, discoloured (yellow, brown or white; patches, streaks or islands), flaky, brittle and uncomfortable. Most fungal nail infections initially begin as mild infections affecting a small portion of the nail. However if left untreated, the infection could eventually spread to involve a larger portion of the nail and could lead to a completely damaged nail or even the nail becoming detached.
How to treat fungal nail?
Fungal Nail can be a distressing and embarrassing condition and without treatment fungal nail will not improve and could eventually spread to involve a larger portion of the nail, which is why Scholl has developed Scholl fungal nail treatment. Scholl fungal nail treatment is an effectively designed system for the treatment of mild fungal nail. The treatment phase lasts 4 weeks, with the improvement of visual signs from 2 weeks.
The protection phase lasts until the nail grows out and helps to prevent the spread of fungus and protects against recurrence. It’s easy to use and has been specially formulated to effectively treat fungal nail infections. So don’t be embarrassed to bare your toes - choose Scholl fungal nail treatment.

Fungal Nail Symptoms
|
|
|
---|---|---|
What are the first signs of fungal nail infection?A fungal nail infection usually begins as a small white or yellow spot under the nail but can spread to discolour the nail, turning it white, yellow, brown green or black. The infected nail can thicken and may become misshapen, losing its flexibility and becoming dry and brittle. The appearance of the nail can be rougher and have ridges. |
Can a fungal nail infection spread onto more than one toe?Nail fungus is highly contagious and can spread to adjacent toenails, the skin around the nail and even to fingernails via any form of direct contact. A fungal toenail infection often occurs as a secondary infection to athlete’s foot, as the fungus spreads from the skin between the toes to the toenail itself. |
Should I treat my fungal nail? Some people choose not to treat especially if the infection is mild or symptom less, however if left untreated, a fungal nail infection can cause the nail to thicken and distort, eventually drying out and detaching from the nail bed. The thick, distorted nail can become a source of discomfort when walking, and as the toenail begins to separate from the nail bed, it can become painful. Scholl Fungal Nail Treatment is for mild fungal nail only. |
Fungal Nail Prevention
|
|
|
---|---|---|
How can I avoid getting a fungal nail infection from other people?A common place for a fungal nail infection to spread are public swimming pools, showers, changing rooms, spas etc, where it’s warm and damp underfoot. Always make a point of wearing flipflops/ pool slippers in these situations, so that you can keep your feet clear of the damp environment where the fungus thrives. Avoid sharing towels or footwear, especially trainers. |
Can my choice of footwear affect whether I get a fungal nail infection?Wearing socks made of natural fibres (100 per cent cotton) and leather shoes will allow your feet to ‘breathe’ and thus reduce the build-up of moisture that the fungi love. Try to alternate footwear day by day as fungal spores can live for a long time in shoes. The golden rule is to always keep your feet as fresh and dry as possible. If you do get your socks and shoes damp, change out of them as soon as possible and dry your feet thoroughly. |
What can I do to prevent a fungal nail infection from spreading?Treat a fungal nail infection as soon as possible to prevent the infection spreading and always dry your feet thoroughly, taking care to dry between your toes. Always wash your hands after treating an infected nail, sterilise any tools you use to treat your feet, by immersing the tools in boiling water or wiping with a disinfectant cloth, and avoid using nail polish or false nails during treatment. |

I have been using it for almost 2 months and I can literally see the new nail coming through day by day. Its like a perfect line between the yellowy nail and the new fresh nail coming in. At this rate, my whole nail should be good as new in the next 3-4 months if i keep using the treatment.
If you're debating whether or not to buy it, just take the plunge and go for it!
Reason I took away a star is because the whole bottle design is over the top and is probably what adds to the price. This could be a cheaper product just providing a bottle of the liquid and 8 small files (in my opinion).
I've tried a couple of these cheaper options with no great success, and for one reason or another they have never really cured the problem, so I was glad to find something that did work from a well trusted manufacturer.
The Scholl fungal nail treatment involves you having to abrade the infected area on a once weekly basis with a series of small files that are provided as part of the kit, whilst applying the liquid solution over the nail every day via the small brush that is also included.
It takes a number of weeks for the treatment to work - which is a result of the fact that not only do you have to kill the infection, but the infected area of the nail also has to grow out which can take a significant amount of time - but if you follow the instructions as required you will find the kit effective at dealing with the problem as I did.

NOTE. This anti fungal is not recommended for fungus which affects more than a third of the nails area.
Also the curative process may take many months if not years. This is an expensive process although it may be better than taking medication which can affect the liver.
This product I am 7 weeks in and there is a clear improvement on my current nail. You file once a week for 5 weeks and apply daily until the 6th week where you apply once a week until the end of the product.
All I have to do now is wait for the rest of the nail to grow out and hopefully it wont come back.
Please check the Symptoms write up of this product as this may not help everyone.
