After a few back and fourth with information and pictures I had the confirmation I wanted
Your drive is a genuine SanDisk product. I have already registered the drive under your account and your 5 years warranty period has been validated.
Now the Drive itself is light weight feels solid when the USB is in or out and the data transfers pretty quickly. I knocked off a star because my first attempt crashed after 30% however it has been working ever since.
Should I have any other feedback I will come back and update my review. Any questions please do ask.

I was then able to read the files back at a steady 104 MBytes/second in 4 minutes and 41 seconds. This is where the good news end, as the card died immediately after I formatted it, and it is now in a permanent "write protected state" (I tried it on different computers, Operating Systems, even on my phone, and the card is really stuck in read only mode).
So in the end this fine product - son of a cheap manufacturing process - died in less than 2 hours. This makes me very sad, especially when I think about the fact that the first 1GB drive I bought 12 years ago still works fine as of today (as it was probably using a now "premium" SLC NAND flash).
Given the price, Sandisk most likely used a crappy TLC NAND flash that could not cope with being used "too much, too soon".
The fact that Sandisk also offers a complimentary 1 year subscription to Rescue PRO Deluxe, does not help with the feeling that the controller within the drive is just giving us the illusion that our data is actually stored properly, when the whole drive could actually crap out at any time.
At least I did not put sensitive data on it, so I can return it with peace of mind.
1.) The USB 3.0 connector is very tight and I have had a real struggle fitting it in to several of my devices.
2.) Because of the tightness of the connector the slider/catch that holds the USB head forward is almost
useless and occasionally gives way and allows the head to be pushed back inside the body when being inserted.
So I now have to hold the slider forward with my thumb whenever I'm trying to insert it just in case it's pushed back.
Of course the USB connectors on some devices are upside down so I have to do this from underneath the drive.
It's ironic since some of my older USB drives had sliders that were way too stiff to move back and forth frequently.
So I'm now looking for USB thumb drives that don't have any sliders. They never work well!
