How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Right where do I start...turn the brightness up the game can be very dark, aslo it can get a bit hectic and you don't know who is friend or foe so you just swing your weapon in hopes it reaches a demon ,add that to darkness and its a bit hit and miss, the fear level mechanic is not my cup of tea, you have to be in light or next to another player so it doesn't deplete otherwise you turn into a demon, you can light bonfires along the way with matches but they are hard to find, so you find yourself at the top level of fear most of the game , there is a level up mechanic in the game but I maxed out the fear upgrades and it didn't seem to help at all, the game is very fast, you seem to not have enough time to look at found weapons and make choices as everyone runs off, this wouldn't be a problem usually but yep you guessed it FEAR LEVEL, the moment you are on your own it shoots up faster so you rush around picking anything up which could be a lower level than the weapon you have in hopes you can catch your team mates as they run off into the darkness.
The level I played was in a forest and there doesn't seem to be any diversity in map selection and we was left wondering if the game we just played was everything it offers, I have not played as a demon so I can't comment on that option .
All in all its probably worth the £30 for the single player aspect if you love the films like I do, graphics are awesome and it plays really smooth (ps5), other than that it just another mediocre game in a sea of mediocre games that have come out in recent months.
Here's hoping the gaming industry pulls its finger out.
GROOVY? not really!

I'm a massive The Evil Dead (and the sequels) fan so when I heard this was in development and Bruce Campbell was on board I added it to my list and pre-ordered it immediately.
The game itself is a mix of Dead By Daylight and Friday the 13th and plays with the humour and gore you can expect from the series.
It's a 30 minute affair as you race to find 3 map pieces before a "Hardpoint" standoff to capture the Dagger and Necronomicon which you ultimately use to send those Deadites back to where they came from! All the while you are being pursued by 1 of 3 demons, each with their own abilities and weaknesses.
Graphically the game is amazing and the team behind it have really captured the Evil Dead theme. The SFX are brilliant and the atmosphere can get intense.
Sadly the game does feel a little empty in places and there have been a few launch issues with the title.
Randomly crashing and turning off PS5 systems.
Lobby drop outs.
Matchmaking issues.
DLC codes not working.
DLC saying it's already been claimed.
But the team say they are actively trying to fix this. When they do I will have no issues dropping a 5th star onto my rating.
This isn't a AAA title but it could well be.

This game is surprisingly good. I’m a fan of Evil Dead and was nervous that this game would disappoint.
If you’ve played other asymmetrical horror games like Dead By Daylight you will hit the ground running with this game.
The games looks and plays fantastically. Can’t wait for future DLC to be released.

Very good and faithful game to the franchise, but also very bare bones on content.

The Evil Dead the game is a love letter to the Evil Dead franchise featuring elements from The Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness and Ash vs Evil Dead. The game certainly feels like it's been made by those who are fans of the franchise and respect the source material. Visually, the game looks a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I've seen some compare this game to Friday 13th and Dead by Daylight, the Evil Dead is much closer to the likes of the Friday 13th game in gameplay wise thankfully as I'm not a fan of Dead by Daylight at all. Evil Dead the game does have some single player content, but its not much to shout about, it's just a few missions and I wouldn't recommend buying this game solely for the single player, the game was made to be played online however I am very happy that you can team up with other online players and face off across an AI opponent, so if your struggling against an online player, then turn it to AI instead, you can also team up with AI as well and do the whole match with just yourself and an AI team. I wasn't expecting this at all and it's a welcome addition, most of these types of games force you to only play with online players. My main criticism and to why I gave it 3 stars and not 4 is the fact that the game feels very bare bones. Once you've played a few matches and either won or lost and maybe dabbled in the single player missions, then your done. Other than a few characters you unlock (and a few outfits) from the single player missions, there's nothing else than just levelling your character up to gain new skills, there's no cosmetics, no daily challenges, no taunts to unlock or just about anything. This feels like a massive missed opportunity to me. If you've played the Resident Evil Resistance game, that game (though unbalanced) did a great job of how you unlock cosmetics, and the updates where free. Yes there is a season pass on the way and you can buy some outfits online, but come on, when you buy a game at full price you shouldn't be expected to spend more money buying cosmetics. Even Friday 13th had reskin colour options to your characters as you levelled them up. It is early days and the devs could still change things around and add more stuff but I just hope they do before the player base drops off. I should also say I am very surprised how balanced the gameplay is, feels 50/50 whether your playing as survivor or demon. So in all it's a good game and if you like the Evil Dead and the Friday 13th game then I think you'll love this, I just wish there was more content in it. Feels like the game should be £25 max and not the £30-£40 retailers are selling it for.
