I decided to write a review because I'm probably coming from a different perspective than most other users.
I'm 72 and used free weights with a workout bench, barbell and dumbbells at home for 30 years. A few years ago I decided it might be dangerous to stress my body to that extent because of my age and stopped using them. However I wanted to keep toned to maintain my independence while avoiding the risk of maybe being trapped under a heavy weight if I lost control of it because I live alone so there's no one to spot me. During Prime week (October) last year I spotted these resistance bands and decided they would allow me to limit the resistance to my actual strength safely. They are cheap and easy to store when not in use so I thought it was worth a try.
I have to say I am very satisfied with them. I have used them with and without the door anchors and initially just tried to replicate the free weights exercises which was fine but I found full body workouts that made better use of their properties by looking around on Youtube. I tend to use 70lbs for workouts - a combination of 50+20 with handles and 40+30 without so I can wrap them round my hands if I need a little extra tension. I'd advise workout gloves for that. For squats I add the 10lb band. I've also changed from doing 4 sets of each exercise twice a week to 2 sets for 4 days a week because I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome so stamina is a problem, which is why I also bought en electric bike. I'm frankly surprised to find that not only am I maintaining my muscle mass, I'm actually gaining some in all areas and It only takes 20-30 mins per session which is an important factor for me. I guess I chose an effective workout routine.
Obviously it would be easy to increase all of the factors I've listed about my workout to achieve more gains but that is not what I am after.
Finally, the bands and extras are not showing any appreciable deterioration after a year. I found that the velcro on the ankle straps didn't hold hold very well so stopped using them pretty quickly but I haven't really needed them. A minor irritation is that the bag for storing them burst along a seam in a short time but now I just hang the bands on a supporting strut of a set of shelves when not in use. I do all the exercises in a fairly small space in my living room so there's very little disturbance to my day to day living routines.
I hope this will be useful to someone considering these.
