The IET Wiring Regulations is the national standard to which all domestic and industrial wiring must conform. It is essential to all those concerned with the design, installation and maintenance of electric wiring in buildings. The 18th Edition is a major update to this title and contains extensive changes to many areas of BS 7671. The 18th Edition has been further updated to include two subsequent amendments as BS 7671:2018+A2:2022.
BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 incorporates changes from the first amendment, published in 2020, regarding Electric Vehicle Charging Installations to provide greater guidance on embracing changing technology within this sector. Additional changes within the second amendment include protection against thermal effects and fire caused by electrical equipment, protection against voltage disturbances and electromagnetic disturbances, and a new chapter on prosumer's low-voltage electrical installations covering energy efficiency measures, the interface with the smart grid, the management of electricity consumption, the management of renewable sources of electricity, and energy storage.

It’s a bit pricey and will be completely worthless in a few years, but you will buy it anyway.
The deceptive characters
The unexpected love triangle
The way they open your eyes to different possibilities
None of this happens in this book.
This is a nice gentle love story between a lone man and his wires.
It delves deep into the passion that exists between plug and socket with explicit descriptions of one penetrating the other.
it made me laugh
it made me cry
but more importantly it cost a bloody fortune just to keep up to date with the regs
The content of the book is badly laid out: mixed topics, empty chapters.
The book appears to be a draft and not a finished script.
The chapters content list does not contain pages numbers, so why even number the pages? Nonsense!
This project desperately needs an editor! Especially at, the over the nose, price.
Ambiguity and nonsense, giving a lot of room to interpretation.
The exam, which is based on this material, is designed to 'catch out' an unsuspecting trainee rather than test their knowledge. One needs to learn how to navigate this excuse for a book in order to pass the 60 questions test. Then it gets thrown in back of a cupboard, never to be looked at again.
I saw better laid out tables and charts in electrical supplier's catalogue... which is free...
I can only imagine the designers of this book sitting at a board meeting discussing: "how can we make the content more awkward and obscure?".
Easily 1-star.
If you need to know what cable grouping factor may need to be applied when installing P.V.C. 6242Y clipped direct in a group of ten or what your adiabatic equation is then this really is the book for you. From Earthing arrangements such as IT TT TN TN-C TN-S TN-C-S to PhotoVoltaic Arrays, MCB/MCCB/RCD/RCBO trip times and maximum allowed Loop Impedance to what is the correct size Earth conductor when using TT and what is the maximum allowed Loop Impedance you will appreciate this book (no arguing whose reading it at bedtime) and need it, frankly.
Don't forget your matching On-Site guide and also the Guidance Notes 1 through 8 for a deeper look into varying aspects of the Installation trade including such classics as 'Test and Inspection' and everyonr's favourite 'Emergency Lighting'. All necessary and well worth reading and familiarising with.
Just thought worth pointing it out.
