A troubled young mother yearns for a shot at redemption in this heartbreaking yet hopeful story from #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover.
After serving five years in prison for a tragic mistake, Kenna Rowan returns to the town where it all went wrong, hoping to reunite with her four-year-old daughter. But the bridges Kenna burned are proving impossible to rebuild. Everyone in her daughter’s life is determined to shut Kenna out, no matter how hard she works to prove herself.
The only person who hasn’t closed the door on her completely is Ledger Ward, a local bar owner and one of the few remaining links to Kenna’s daughter. But if anyone were to discover how Ledger is slowly becoming an important part of Kenna’s life, both would risk losing the trust of everyone important to them.
The two form a connection despite the pressure surrounding them, but as their romance grows, so does the risk. Kenna must find a way to absolve the mistakes of her past in order to build a future out of hope and healing.

I received my copy today which I had pre ordered and was expecting a glossy copy of a paperback as I usually receive when something is published.
What I got was ANOTHER Amazon knock off copy where they print it themselves.
I wish that it would state somewhere in the description that this is what you are receiving. This has happened numerous times and for sending as gifts this is just embarrassing.
I know this doesn’t take away how good a novel this will be and doesn’t affect the writing, it’s just disappointment when you receive a sub standard item time and time again.

So heartfelt and honest - it's a rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish, so make sure you have a box of tissues at the ready. That bubble you get in your throat, that ache in your heart - that was prominent for me through the whole book.
What I Love most about Colleens books is the characters - its so easy to relate to them and to be able to emphasise with their lives and feelings. Also im in awe of the writing - how it grips you and pulls you in and makes you believe that you're in the story. Kenna's pain is portrayed so well within the writing. I adored the push and pull of the relationship between her and Ledger.
The uniqueness in this story can be found in the letters written throughout, I found that gave an added insight to Kenna the story. I loved that she wrote to Scotty it truly showed how much she was in love with him.
Another cracking read!! But then we all knew it was going to be right!?!?

Another cracking read!! But then we all knew it was going to be right!?!?

I work in a school and whenever my students get into disagreements or fall outs I always try to make the point that there isn’t always a right or wrong, or a good or bad person in a situation but that sometimes it’s simply a case of perspective and this book is the perfect example of that.
I really don’t want to spoil anything as I think that the beauty of reading a CoHo book is going in completely blind because her books are experiences but I will say that Kenna and Ledger’s story brought me to tears and also gave me so many happy moments. What an incredible story! I’ve always maintained that It Ends With Us is my favourite CoHo book and that other books can share the top spot but never take it but after reading Reminders of Him I’m not sure I can say that anymore, I can officially say that Reminders of Him is my favourite CoHo book so far!!!
And as a final note I always love that ‘ah ha’ moment where the title and cover of a CoHo book makes sense!
When Kenna leaves prison after 5 years she has one thing on her mind - to find her daughter. And so she returns to the place which gives her conflicting feelings, a place she once loved but left broken hearted. This isn't going to be easy and with a small town knowing her history, Kenna has never felt more alone.
Going to sound like a broken record here but as always with Colleen Hoover books, I recommend going into this blind. I read no reviews, did not look at the blurb on the back or see anything online and I always think that this adds to my enjoyment of Colleen Hoover's novels.
Reminders of Him was a book covering a topic I've never read about before and it was interesting to see both sides of the story (again sorry for the vagueness here). Reading from the side of the perpetrator gave me a whole other side of feelings which I possibly had not considered enough before.
Whilst I would argue that not a lot happens in this novel, (it is very much a character driven read) it is safe to say I was hooked, invested and emotional throughout. And yes by the end I was crying... AGAIN.
Colleen Hoover's writing captivates you, absorbs you, crushes you, means you cannot put the book down and then leaves you a mess at the end craving more. If you are a Colleen Hoover fan, you will love this book, no doubt about that.
I'm ready for the next one please!
