I bought this for my dad for dog walking at night etc, but was sceptical due to so many negative reviews.
I have found since (through my dad as well as using it myself) that it is in fact a very good product!
Firstly, the hat itself is actually quite warm. Obviously not made specially for going up mountains, but does the same job as any other regular beanie.
next the light, is very bright and the charging is fantastic since it saves changing over tiny batteries, though haven't had to charge it much at all so far (used for about three weeks).
My main concern was that the light would face upwards into the sky and not actually onto the path, like most people have complained about. In actuality the light is wide enough that even if it is facing slightly up (depending how high you wear your hat) it still shines the space in front of you. For what my dad needed it for it was fine, he says whenever he needs to pick something up in the dark or look directly down his head is looking directly down anyway, so the light moves down to the ground.
All in all very pleased considering the price and think it's a lot better than most make out.
