There is no 'q' card in the pack but this is correct as the phonic sound is 'qu' which IS in the pack
If you are familiar with Ruth Miskin and Read Write Inc (taught in schools), these cards are exactly the same as the ones they use. If you are unfamiliar with Ruth Miskin then I understand why you may feel confused so maybe take a look at their website to get an understanding :)
I have attached pictures to show exactly what you get in the pack and how the cards are used (all the instructions are included in the pack).
My only issue is the 'sh' phonics card (picture side) as the writing reads 'The says horse shhh...' when it should read 'The horse says shhh'...
A misprint that the company should have rectified but in the grand scheme of things I'm really pleased with these cards.
55 phonics flashcards -
7 instruction cards (numbered 1-7): With activities to help your child learn the Speed sounds, the letters that represent them and how to sound-blend them into words for reading.
31 Speed sound cards - With the letter or letters that represent a sound on one side and a simple picture prompt on the other side
17 picture cards - With pictures of things that contain the same sound as the Speed sound cards (flip the cards over for more pictures)

You have a few cards with letters of alphabet on it and a few with a couple of letters like “ch”. On the back there is some nonsense. For example: “Say: ch-ch-choo! The horse sneezes when the caterpillar hairs tickle his nose.” What? Utter nonsense. You would have appreciated 5-6 words with “ch” so that the child could practice.
Some other cards have a single word on them supposedly to help children read. Like “astronaut”. Seriously? Let children first learn “cat” and “dog” before graduating to astronaut!
Completely disappointed with Ruth Miskin and her scam.

The cards are set out in a really good and easily understandable way with simple explanation of the stages and what to do. This has shown that he really has taken more in at school than previously thought. It takes you through how the letters sound until the child easily recognises 5 letters and then is able to word blend. With several activities that create a fun learning environment. I am amazed with these and would definitely recommend to anyone. I will be looking at other supplies from this brand as we progress over the next 6weeks
All in all I think they’re great, probably not the most long lasting, and I have a feeling the edges will go quickly, but I think they’ll last us a couple of years and that’s good enough for the price.
Edit: I saw some reviews sayin q is missing. Q is represented as qu, so there will be no singular q in the pack.
