Big problem #1 - Laggy input in some cases
I have a fairly regular problem where the input gets incredibly laggy (unsuable for desktop applications laggy) if my screen resolution changes. This happens when I turn on my TV to use as an external monitor, or when I install a new game and it runs at the default resultion. The only fix is to reboot my PC. If it happened once it would be annoying but acceptable, but this happens several times a week
Bigger problem #2 - privacy
If you want to configure the mouse in any way (or view the battery level, etc, etc) you have to install Razer Synapse. There's no way to run Synapse without registering for a Razer account. So now you've got an application monitoring everything you do on your computer ("information about your activities while using our hardware or software or while logged into your Razer ID account") and sending it back to Razer. Their privacy policy allows them to connect this to your identity and send it to any country that has lower privacy standards ("a destination outside the European Economic Area (EEA) in which data protection laws may be of a lower standard than in the EEA").
Remember you've paid full price for this product, yet you still have to agree to have all of your activities logged and sold by Razer
For the above reasons, I would avoid this product, and unfortunately any Razer product, until the issues are addressed
Yes, it's a great mouse, very comfortable but after only 2 days of receiving it I noticed it was not charging when I'd left it on the dock overnight. The feature I explicitly bought this mouse for.
It turns out that the metal charging prongs do not make a good connection with the mouse, there is a slight bit of play and wiggle when mated to the dock. You have to get the connection "just right" for it to charge.
I raised a support request with Razer, who ignored me for 3 weeks before replying to say clean the charge points with an earbud.
I'd already tried this from advice reading forums - for the contacts to be dirty after 2 days of use?
After 2 months of waking up to a no - charge mouse I gave up. I'm WFH due to Covid. I've put it on charge every night (as I always do), and sick of opening the software to monitor and babysit getting the connection just right - even then it often slips, still resulting in no overnight charge.
This morning it's down to 5% battery life. I've had enough, raised a return request with Amazon and ordered a HyperX Pulsefire Dart and an Anker Qi pad. I hope I have better luck with that - their HyperX Alloy keyboard has been a great purchase.
TL;DR:
Nice mouse.
Dock is poorly designed and does not work.
Terrible customer support from Razer.
Constantly jerks, cuts out or freezes. Constantly changing batteries.
I'm not impressed with any of the Razer stuff (separate review for keyboard - at least that works but why does it need an internet connection to work?) - but this is pure junk. Worst mouse I've ever had.
First the battery - i know its a wireless mouse, but the battery didnt seem to last all that long. On top of that theres no warning when its about to die, it just goes. Anyone taking gaming seriously (which is most people who but a gaming mouse) will know how terrible that is
Secondly, the mouse would just stop working sometimes (presumably the wireless connection but no idea really). Also I was already having problems with double clicks and drags not being picked up accurately. Very disappointed as ive used razer stuff before and its usually great. Will be sticking to wired in future
