One song for the dying... sung by the dead...
When the body of a young woman is discovered at the home she shared with her disabled daughter, DI Tom Janssen and his team must investigate the circumstances surrounding her death. The woman was a single mother, well regarded and popular among the group she frequented, but she had a chequered past... a life she kept secret from those around her... a life that may, ultimately, have led to her death. Friends, past lovers, and confidants offer conflicting descriptions of the deceased... did anyone know her at all?
The team realise the daughter is missing and, away from her medication, the little girl's life hangs in the balance. Unless the team can solve a seemingly calculated murder, an innocent life will be lost...
Set within the mysterious beauty of coastal Norfolk, this fast-paced British detective novel is a dark murder mystery that will keep you guessing until the very end when the final shocking twist is revealed.
The Raven Song is the latest novel in the Hidden Norfolk series of thrillers from the million-copy bestselling British crime writer, JM Dalgliesh, the author of the Dark Yorkshire books. Perfect for fans of LJ Ross, JD Kirk, Angela Marsons, Simon McCleave and Damien Boyd.

About the author

Jason Dalgliesh is a bestselling British crime novelist. His first book, Divided House, was published in 2018 and was a runaway success topping the Amazon charts in both the UK, USA and Australia. To date, he has sold in excess of a million books across his Hidden Norfolk and Dark Yorkshire series with each book becoming bestsellers in their own right. The Hidden Norfolk books consistently hit the Amazon UK Top 10 and the most recent release, To Die For, was the second bestselling ebook in the UK in the week of publication.
Rapidly establishing himself as one of Amazon's most read authors, the fifth book in the Hidden Norfolk series, Hear No Evil, was shortlisted for Amazon's prestigious Kindle Storyteller Award in 2020. His books have been translated and are available across the world selling copies in sixty-eight countries to date. Work is underway to bring both series to the silver screen by a National Film Awards winning production team.
Born on the south coast of England, growing up in Hampshire, Jason has lived and worked abroad as well as in various parts of the country and in the Scottish Highlands. He currently lives in Norfolk with his wife and two young children.
Penned in the style of crime thrillers with a touch of Scandinavian noir, Jason's books will appeal to readers who enjoy dark atmospheric mysteries.
Readers can reach him via his website at www.jmdalgliesh.com or find him on Twitter and Facebook.

I certainly couldn't put it down and if the house had fallen down around me, I doubt I would have noticed.
His unique way of putting the storyline together, descriptive of the characters, and places the book is situated are truly brought to life.
Eric seems to be taking a more active role in this one, although I do feel there is more to come with this character.
Although eventually I did have my suspicions, in the end there was still a twist. This certainly has plenty of twists and turns, with a number of red herrings thrown in, and certainly revelations.
Altogether another thoroughly enjoyable read and I certainly would recommend this book and without doubt deserves five stars. I am certainly looking forward to the next book.
As usual I already had this on pre order, but I would like to thank the Author for my advanced copy of this book. This is my honest unbiased review.
A young woman is found dead in her bedroom and her daughter with severe disabilities is missing. We have a plethora of suspects including her dad, an ex-husband, boyfriends and neighbours. It's a complex and sad investigation for Tom, Tamara and the team. The author has ensured that the prime characters in this series are well and sympathetically developed - they're becoming good friends!
I'll now have to wait impatiently for episode #12 - due for release in late October 2022.
If you liked previous books in the series, you'll enjoy this one too - highly recommended 😁👌😁

Now awaiting book 12 but in the meantime a novella to read. Keep up the good work Mr Dalglish.
This is one of the best books this author has written. A real page-turner. I was three-quarters the way through it when I picked up on clues that led me to the true suspect. I was so into the story that I kept willing Tom to notice what I'd suspected. Crazy eh? Well, I was so into the story that it became real, well, to me it did.
5 ***** from this happy reader. Can't wait to get stuck into Book 12
As you are presented with the facts you can try and come to your own conclusions before the story reaches its end, or before the final piece of the puzzle is revealed. Either way, this series gives you lots of compelling reading and excellent storylines.
Readers of Alex Smith, Matt Brolly, Angela Marsons, Patricia Gibney should enjoy this series. Happy reading!
