Product description
Product Description
Most wipes aren’t safe to flush down the toilet. They contain plastic, so can take up to 100 years to biodegrade, causing fatbergs in sewers. Pura’s 100% plastic-free, biodegradable toilet tissue wipes are accredited by Water UK as Fine to Flush, so you can trust that they’ll disperse in water just like loo roll, but feel kinder on your bottom. There’s no plastic in wipes! They are made simply from biodegradable and compostable plant fibres, with 99% water and organic aloe vera. They contain no perfume, no alcohol and no chlorine.

Good for bottoms!
Suitable for sensitive and eczema-prone skin**, our wipes are paediatrician and dermatologically approved**. The have the Allergy UK, Allergy Friendly Product accreditation*** and contain organic Aloe Vera, 99% purified water and no perfume, alcohol or chlorine. So whether they're used for easy potty training, or on grown-up bottoms, you can be sure they're safe on skin, sewers and the planet.

Good for planet!
Plastic wipes make up 93% of the material clogging sewers and causing fatbergs. Like the 40-tonne monstrosity, the size of a double-decker bus, that had to be cleared from a London sewer. Pura’s toilet tissue wipes are different! Made from sustainably-sourced plant fibres, they are 100% plastic-free.

Good for piggy banks!
Our toilet wipes feel luxurious but are affordable! Order our large packs of 40 wipes to get the best value for your money.

Good for sewers and sea!
Our wipes are officially accredited as Fine To Flush by Water UK. This means they’ve passed stringent tests to prove they will disperse in moving water - just like toilet paper. So they don’t cause blockages or fatbergs. Launched in 2019, the Fine to Flush certification is now the UK’s only standard for flushability. If your wipes don’t have the certification, don’t flush them!

The only real issue is the fragility of the product which is as follows: you need them to be fragile to break down in the sewer system, understood; but you also need to get them out of the pack in a fit state to use. So the dispenser we already had (for previous type) was a tad small for them to fit in. The slit in the top was incapable of permitting any tissue to be 'got at' without breaking it up. So we started lifting the entire lid to get at the tissues but then the same problem occurs with the PURA packaging as the preformed opening is also too small to get the tissues out.
So you end up getting scissors and cutting the packaging top open in a star shape (four slits from the centre to each corner) and finally you can get your fingernails to the edge of a tissue. Its far worse on a fesh pack as the packaging has no give at the edges.
Usually I can think of an easily engineered solution to this sort of problem but on this occasion I confess I am struggling. But solving this would deal with most if not all of the negative reviews.
I want to do the right thing but sometimes it can be a pain in the bum trying. Fix this and its five stars all the way.
The product it’s self is superior to many in size and thickness.
Very very Happy will buy again
Please note that if you’re a person who prefers to keep them in a plastic box, be aware that they won’t fit in an Andrex one which is the average size. You will need a larger container.
Ive used them as toilet wipes - I usually use andrex ones but these are far better - and after use I feel very clean and fresh - but also for quick freshen up on the face, armpits and nether regions - I would also think theyd make great quick-clean wipes for kids hands and faces as theyre so strong but gentle.
The only (big) criticisim I have though is the pack design. The hole to pull the wipes out of is pathetically small, and the wipes VERY tightly stacked so the edges are difficult to get hold of through the tiny hole - so of course every few wipes it becomes next to impossible to pull one out without either tearing a hole in the wipe, or shredding it - rendering it useless - or pulling 4 or 5 out at once which you then have to force back in which could mean youre losing some of the hygiene of them.
Additionally the reclose tab loses its sticky about half way through the pack generally - but because you invariably have to stuff ones back in when youve accidentally pulled a bunch out, you wet the surface which just worsens the stick.
The hole could do to be about 50% bigger, and the tab to have a better grip when closed. Its frustrating, as this is such a massive oversight on what could be a fantastic product.
