About this item
- Three nations battle for control of the dwindling resources of salt and iron
- Make choices and build your Conviction in TRIANGLE STRATEGY, a tactical RPG from Square Enix on Nintendo Switch. In this tale told through beautiful HD-2D graphics, where will your sense of justice take you...?
- Command a group of warriors as Serenoa, heir of House Wolffort, in a tangled plot where your decisions make all the difference. Key choices you make will bolster one of three convictions—Utility, Morality, Liberty—which together make up Serenoa’s world view and influence how the story will unfold. When faced with truly momentous decisions, multiple characters will weigh in by casting their votes on the Scales of Conviction. In these moments, your allies and decisions you make can determine the fate of whole nations and the continent of Norzelia itself
- Finding the best location in turn-based battles can tip the tide of combat in your favour. Position units on higher ground to take control of the battlefield and gain the advantage with increased range. You can also flank enemies on both sides, then strike from behind for a powerful follow-up attack. Elemental chain reactions are also an important part of combat. For example, use fire to melt icy terrain, then use lightning to electrocute it. Push the enemy into the electrified water to see sparks fly

The game reminds me of the classic Golden Sun game with it's graphics and storyline. After a slow start, the game picks up pace and becomes really engaging. There is a lot to take in with the combat system and be sure to check out battle tips on YouTube otherwise you will struggle to get far. The slight negative is that the dialogues can get repetitive and annoying, I found myself skipping them all the time although they are relevant to how the game ends. I would recommend for RPG fans.

This game is genuinely so fun as well as gorgeous. If you have any doubts about the game then you can try a digital demo of the first 3 chapters, though be warned the game is very story heavy. I personally love games with huge stories so that's why my rating is so high, though others may not agree, which is why I recommend playing the free demo first.

Although the title of the game sounds like an average RPG game , let me first start of by saying this game is amazing. any fans of fire emblem and final fantasy tactics will love this game . it utilizes a square based tactical RPG battle system where each character has their own set of skills they can utilize like Seranoa's hawk dive . this game holds its own against big time classics like fire emblem and delivers a great story with lot's of important decisions that dramatically impact's the games story these are called convictions many of which the main character Seranoa has to make during the game. In the game there is also a huge roster of different characters you can recruit with many various abilities. I would rate this game 5/5 stars the only downside this game has is its title which isn't very creative, well done square enix you've created another classic!

First of all, delivery was amazing next day and it was with me!
This is very very slow to start with, it might even put some people off with how much dialogue and emphasis it puts into the lore and background to bring you up to speed with the present, so be patient and you will absolutely reap the benefit of what should be a ground breaking game for switch owners.
The Protagonist is the fairly standard heir to the lord of etc. And comes across as a bit of a flake, but hes ok enough, the real genius of this game is that it makes all the other playable and supporting characters interesting and it's up to you if you want to find out more about them, the game doesn't force that on you, you can quite happily skip optional content, though it does have a bearing on the different paths this game takes you down.
The real star of the show is the battles, wow, extremely engaging and very simple to learn to begin with, and there are tutorial battles (recommended) to explain the more strategic and difficult manoeuvres to outwit your opponents.
Replay value is 10/10.
Simply put it's amazing, if you like rpgs and or tactics games, this is for you, end of.

Great strategy game, with interesting battle mechanics, great range of characters all with a variety of skills that give a great range of variability in battle.
The three options of morality, utility or liberty gives the game multiple paths. The story is a great fantasy epic - think pixelated Game of Thrones.
Each character has little skits that unlock that provide you with their backstory or little adventures they have with other members of your army.
I highly recommend if you like pure strategy games like Tactics Ogre, Final Fantasy Tactics, Shining Forces or old school Fire Emblem games.

The short of it is that there are quite a few flaws in the game that I can see putting people not familiar with tactical RPG games off. I'd recommend trying different games in the genre before giving this a go.
There's plenty to enjoy in this game for fans of the genre. I personally like the simplicity and how it makes you really have to focus on the mechanics and strategy, these being different to some other games in the genre. There is very little customisation or inventory management, and classes/most skills are locked to a single character. You are forced to focus that little bit harder on your party's strengths and weaknesses to win the battle, not necessarily being able to rely on overpowered classes or characters.
I think the combat has two important mechanics, positioning and tactical points. For the former, if when attacking, even from range, a friendly unit is on the opposite side of your target, that friendly unit will complete a follow-up attack. This makes the almost standard 'rush the tank in' play a little risky as they can quickly become overwhelmed by multiple attacks. Even when playing conservatively a mistake can cost you dearly. Tactical points are needed to use skills, and even with an increasing number to use as your characters grow, they remain a tricky resource to manage, especially on casters.
The apparent simplicity won't be for everyone. Having played Tactics Ogre recently not spending hours crafting materials and managing my party is refreshing, but everything in Triangle Strategy can get a little stale after a while.
I think the writing and pacing gets better as the game goes on, but it still remains very, very bloated in some areas. Some of the writing is poor in the sense that characters say things that appear to make little sense, or there is no consistency. Imagine being beaten by a powerful enemy, but you still have hope that you will prevail in the end. The same thing happens with a different enemy, but now there's no hope? Why? This also applies to the decision-making mechanic, the 'Scales of Conviction', where I have sometimes felt like I have had no influence over the decision, even after I have been explicitly told that it is MY decision to make.
I could go on for ages, but for me this is a 6/7 out of 10 game, thinking in terms of how people scored games in the 90s/early 00s that is. It's a great strategy game with a different take to other tactical RPGs which I appreciate, but it is not on par with some of the greats. The pacing and writing lets it down in parts and some of the mechanics and game design could have done with a little more thought or polish to make them work better.
