POLAROID – THE ORIGINAL POLARIZED SINCE 1937
…Everything started in 1929 with Edwin H. Land, our brave and charismatic founder. At the ripe young age of 20, Land patented the world’s first synthetic polarising material for commercial use. 8 years later, Polaroid – the inventor of the Original Polarised lenses – was born.
Through the decades, Polaroid eyewear has always played a pioneering role and Land’s breakthrough technology remains the basis of all polarised eyewear, photo lenses and screens.
Nowadays Polaroid produces two lines of polarised lenses:
- THERMOFORMED LENSES made of 9 plastic layers, each thought to ensure protection, color, light filtration and polarisation.
- INJECTED LENSES with great optical precision and extreme impact resistance.
