What’s the difference between the PS5 console and the PS5 Digital Edition console?
The only difference between the PS5 console and the PS5 Digital Edition console is the inclusion of an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive in the PS5 console. The PS5 Digital Edition console does not feature a disc drive.
Are there any performance differences between the PS5 console and the PS5 Digital Edition console?
No. The consoles’ performance is identical, outside the existence of a disc drive.
Can I use both PS5 console models in either horizontal or vertical orientation?
Yes, both PS5 models include a Base that allows users to adjust the console for vertical or horizontal placement. Watch our PS5 teardown video to see how it works.
Can I expand PS5’s ultra-high speed SSD storage?
PS5 features an expansion port that will, in the future, enable players to add M.2 SSD storage to be used for installing and playing PS5 games.
Can I play PS4 games on PS5?
Yes. When the PlayStation 5 console launches this November, more than 99 percent of the 4000+ games available on PS4 will be playable on it.

The remote has a smart look with its colour theme being in-line with the PS5 console and it's also compact in size so doesn't take up too much room.
It does require two AA batteries (included) and slots into a seamless battery compartment that was a little tricky to open at first.
Pairing with the PS5 took under a minute, just need to go into the settings and accessories tab and it will guide you through the process and even give you an option to work with your TV, such as adjusting the volume.
This media remote is not a required accessory as the DualSense works brilliantly but if you want to save your controllers battery for gaming, then the remote is certainly a nice addition to have. I really like the quick select options for Spotify, YouTube, Netflix & Disney+ and it's a bit nicer to do everything with one hand.
If the above ticks your boxes, then I would definitely recommend it.
✔ Pros:
✓ Compact & lightweight.
✓ Simple set-up.
✓ Comfortable to use.
✓ Very convenient.
✓ Batteries included.
✖ Cons:
✘ Not rechargeable.

However it's just fundamentally a rubbish controller. I suppose I should have looked closer before buying, but was in the rush with ordering all the PS5 bits. It comes in the standard light grey of the PS5 stuff, personally I dislike it, I'd have rather had black, but that will be entirely personal preference.
For something to use as a media controller you would have thought it might have a simple on/off button, instead you have to go through the playstation button. There is no eject button. Only fast forward/rewind buttons, not next/previous track. No simple subtitles button (daughter is hard of hearing so often use that). No top menu/pop up menu buttons. But they found space to put in pointless shortcut buttons - no doubt funded nicely by netflix, google, spotify and disney. Final annoyance, similar to the standard controllers, a rough ridge between the black & "white" (grey) - guess it makes it cheaper to not have to have the quality control to nicely align things (it's made in China)
The old PS3 media remote was perfect in terms of controls, though admittedly a bit bulky. The controller I have for the Sony 4K blu-ray player would actually have been almost perfect, if they'd just made one like that work with the PS5. My idea with getting this was I could stick the blu-ray player away and save space, but just because of the controller I make keep it out.
In conclusion, save you money and just use the ordinary controller and hope a third party brings out a decent media remote at some point.

Meanwhile on my PS5 there is no issue. These apps load instantaneously, BUT, what is of the utmost annoyance is using the DualSense to navigate. It's not really intuitive, well the main functions are, but other things aren't. Also, I've noticed just how sensitive the DualSense is when watching, say, Netflix. I can start a movie, put the DualSense on the sofa next to me and the movie is suddenly fast-forwarding. The same with discs, I put the DualSense to the side and the movie is skipping chapters.
So, despite reading some mediocre "expert" reviews for the PS5 media remote, and getting bored of waiting for a third party controller that may or may not come, I placed n order anyway...
It arrived all pristine and looking at it, it is aesthetically pleasing but clearly basic in it's design and use. The thing is extremely light and unfortunately feels like a toy and very "plasticky". Batteries are supplied, with the battery cover being easy to remove and replace. However, it is curved so doesn't sit flat on, say, a table, if that bothers you.
Pairing is an absolute doddle and takes seconds.
The media remote is fine in use, and the addition of the Service Launch buttons is great (though I would prefer an Amazon Prime button to a Spotify one) but it's missing key features (settings, menu, eject (I guess only useful for the disc model), subtitles, etc.) I am, of course, comparing it to the brilliant PS3 media controller which was a beast, and perhaps that's a little unfair, but for the price, this media remote should be more like the PS3 one. That said, it does do the basics just fine.
Whilst I don't think it's worth the price of admission (if I'm being honest, this should really be something they chuck in for "free" with your PS5) it has eradicated the annoyance of using an oversensitive DualSense. In fact, come to think of it, is there a setting to dial down the DualSense sensitivity? Man, I should really have looked into that first...
Anyway, as it is, you get a really basic but functional media remote for your money.
