The story is the perfect length for bedtime, and keeps our daughter entertained and engaged. She loves asking questions about the story and pointing at all the pictures, which are lovely and colorful.
I also like that the book is a larger format which lends itself to reading with more than one child.
This is a new favourite for bedtime and I would recommend it to others.

From the back cover of the copy I received (image below refers):
👑‘Peppa has received a very special letter ~ an invitation to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee garden party! But when Peppa and her friends arrive, there’s been a royal hiccup.
Can party-planning Peppa save the day?’
Anyway...ahead of the real thing, this is a book for the 70th celebration.
Peppa’s Mummy receives a royal invitation and can take family & friends along to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee garden party at the palace, courtesy of an open topped (No.15) red bus, of course.
They all don their best clothes and set off with a catchy little song belting out.
However, the Queen’s regular party planner has got the wrong date and there is no party😟 set up in the Palace garden that day.
Worry not...Peppa & Co. spring into action with a handy spot of ‘some I made or packed earlier’ saving the day! The Queen is even able to indulge in a bit of ‘muddy-puddle jumping’, when, as all major events can potentially suffer, dark clouds arrive overhead!
The ‘LOOK INSIDE’ facility & current stock images above give an idea of the content to see if it is the style for you & yours.
ooOoo
Measuring roughly 25 cm square, the colourful, thick card front cover has a regal touch with shiny gold foil embellishment in places; the titling is embossed in white.
Inside are 32 (unnumbered), shiny finish pages, the story running across 29 in double page spread format, except the last.
The inside cover page has an opportunity to claim ownership of the book.
Italicised for emphasis or ENLARGED at times FOR EFFECT, and with an occasional repeat element to all join in with, e.g. ‘Hip Hip Hooray!’ & the word ‘Seventy’, the text is a good size and clear in black throughout including on the darker coloured backgrounds, in my experience.
The colourful illustrations offer scope for more discussion, perhaps leading up to an event that might be at the planning stage in your area, as:
‘…“The whole country is waiting to celebrate...”...’
After all...‘Everyone loves a royal party!' 👑

Peppa and her family receive a invitation from the Queen to her platinum jubilee garden party. Peppa invites her friends along and tells them to what to bring party. However when they arrive at the palace there is no party as the queens planners haven't arrived, can Peppa and her friends save the day so they can celebrate the jubilee.
The book has the charm that the tv episodes have (from Mummy Pig over packing, Peppa thinking Daddy is as old as the queen and of course there is muddy puddle jumping).
This book is similar to what happens in the tv episode.
I have other Peppa books and this is basically a repeat of the other Peppa books, it's basically the same story just rebranded to fit a new theme/topic so it others nothing new (Peppa gets invited somewhere, something happens and Peppa saves the day).
Although the book is suppose to educate children about Queen Jubilee you don't really learn anything the only fact in the book is when Peppa asks Daddy Pig what is a jubilee.
My 4yr old enjoyed the story however I don't think it will be one that she will return to anytime soon.
Brilliant illustrations throughout.
Appealing to young children who are mad on Peppa Pig.
Would make a nice gift especially in the lead up to the jubilee.
The book is a good size and the same as all the other paperback peppa books which makes me happy as they look nice lined up on the bookshelf! So *spoiler alert* the actual story is a bit of a rip off of the “Peppa goes to Ireland” book and has just been changed to make it a queen’s jubilee event rather than a trip to Ireland. Saying that my 3 year old didn’t notice or mind in the slightest! If you haven’t got that book the storyline of both is just that Peppa and her family/ friends go to an event, in this case the queens jubilee. When they get there the event has an issue and doesn’t have anything they need. In this Royal version it’s the queens garden party but they don’t have any food or games etc. Luckily Peppa and her family and friends have what they need with them so the event can go ahead. It then rains and they all put on their boots to jump in the muddy puddles (including the queen in this royal book).
Overall my daughter loves it so I’d be happy to recommend to any little Peppa fans. Had to knock off a star as the story is too similar to the Peppa goes to Ireland book in my opinion.
