The worst product I have ever purchased from Amazon. I was sucked-in by the positive reviews and by what looked like a reasonable price, and I have bought some other Peckish brand products in the past and found them to be pretty good. We are lucky to have lots of birds visiting our garden and I’ve got lots of feeders in different locations. But this is awful - more than 90% of what I put in my feeders has ended up on the ground because it’s inedible. Wood pigeons, robins and collared doves aren’t taking it from the floor or from a ground feeder. I was worried that the waste on the floor would attract vermin but even they don’t seem interested. I made the mistake of buying a 12.5kg sack, and I decanted it in to a plastic pest-proof bin. I’ve got 10kg left which I won’t be able to use so it will just be dumped and I’ll have to buy a new product. And I will need to dig out the turf which all this seed has landed on, to prevent vermin and rotting waste. What a waste of money.

I hadn't seen much bird activity for a few days, but they seem to have discovered it now. The sparrows (and pigeons) are going crazy for it. The blue tits are a little less impressed.

Update: I've had to reduce my rating. The 20kg bag is posted with no extra packaging. Sadly the third bag we received was split open. Someone had put a piece of duct tape on the split, but it was still leaking a small trail of seed when we received the bag. Perhaps 2-3 kg of seed had been lost before delivery. I'm very supportive of minimising packing, but clearly one layer of plastic is not enough for a bag of this weight.

A success with Irish Birds - but needs better packing

After buying a bird table a year ago we experimented with small bags of seed of various brands before finally settling on Peckish Complete, which seems the most popular with the local birds (we live in Ireland). The 20 kg bag offers much better value than the 2 kg bag I had been buying locally, but has encouraged my wife to put a pile of seed on the bird table every day - so it's not lasting much longer! More negatively, the seed is not mess free, and a proportion of the fallen seed sprouts and has to be cleared by hand - using strong weedkillers doesn't seem a good idea.By Tony617 on 3 November 2019

I have 16 different types of birds visit me that I feed 4 times a day and have up to 40 birds at a time. I run short of my normal seed mix due to slow delivery and ordered this from Amazon so as to have a quick delivery.The birds eat every single bit, So I was surprised when I put this out for them to find they leave most of it thinking that It being a new mix that they have to get use to it. But after sweeping the wall clean I've tried several times to find the same they leave most of it and the number of birds visiting has dropped to just a few. I find this seed mix a waist of time and leaves a big mess. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SEED MIX.
