When I bought my iMac back in January 2013, I purchased it with the original Magic Mouse, Trackpad and wireless keyboard. I also bought the Apple battery charger which came with 6 x AA rechargeable batteries, shown in the photo. These original batteries, after 6 years of constant use, have now got to the point where a full charge lasts only maybe two days, where as they used to last easily 4 to 6 weeks. I scoured the internet looking for as close a direct replacement as I could find, and these Panasonic Eneloop 1900mAh were a near perfect replacement. I've recharged them in the apple charger and they charged up no problem, and I tested them in the magic trackpad and keyboard. So far I'm 48 hours in and the battery level still shows as 100%, so I fully expect these to be as good as the original Apple rechargeable batteries were.
Obviously they'll be good for other uses, but I just added this in case anyone else is looking for batteries for older Apple input devices like I had.

This review is only about the "Pack of 8 with case" combo ASIN B07HZL1ZGS. There is no case. The manufacturer has placed the batteries in a plastic package that might be considered reusable, in the sense that it isn't destroyed in order to open the package but it is in no way "a case" as might be legitimately expected by someone who has bought these batteries many times previously and received a proper, rigid plastic, design specific case with a snap closure and hinged lid. It's just stylised packaging & a disingenuous marketing ploy to advertise them as having a case.
The batteries themselves are excellent, I've been using them for years.

Great batteries but it is very poor that they are selling these as if they come with a separate case

The media could not be loaded.
So what I am reviewing here is not the batteries by themselves but the whole product as it is sold. They are sold as a pack of 8 batteries WITH a case. This would lead you to believe that you will be getting a separate case to store the batteries in. Now this is the bit that is misleading and has prompted me to finally do this review and score the product poorly. They do NOT come with a separate case to store them in. What they are calling the case is actually the packaging it comes in, as it has a resealable lid. I find that very misleading as originally I brought them thinking I am going to get a separate case but then I was very disappointed when they arrived. The only reason I keep buying the same batteries is quite simply because I haven't found a better rechargeable battery than these
If you have a look at the attached video you will see what I mean about the packaging that they are claiming to be a case. Like most people I was expecting to get a separate case for the batteries, and was very disappointed when I found out that the packaging itself was the case.

These are the kind of batteries if you're using and older DSLR camera (e.g. Pentax ist DL2). They don't give the camera false reading of 'half empty' or no power at all, they last a fare while, unless your camera is a power hungry type (most Pentax's are) but these are far better than standard alkaline types and I've found the Eneloop batteries will outperform the standard AA Duracell versions to boot!
There are some negatives you need to watch for:
1. They're not cheap to purchase initially so you have to be using them a lot to get your money's worth.
2. The case that's included is NOT a hard type case, it more of a thin plastic type that could break easy enough if you don't take care of removing / replacing the batteries. I would of like for the money to have had a proper hard case to look after the batteries when transporting them around in the camera bag. However, it is better than just having them loosely in a re-seal bag and there's less likely they'll get lost or damaged if they are properly kept separate from each other.
3. Make sure you purchase the 'authentic' Eneloop ones from someone that's sourced them from the proper manufacture in Japan, not the Chinese copy versions as these versions are useless!
Would I purchase another set, erm... at the price they are currently going for possibly not at the moment, but if I could source a genuine set much cheaper then more than likely.

I've bought several packs of Eneloop batteries in the past but these were the first AAA ones I'd bought - they were for a set of small LED lights behind my TV. I rarely use them but thought rechargeable ones would be the way to go, I had a few lights which needed 3 batteries each so didn't want to mulch through normal batteries.
After using them literally once (for 10 mins) over a 4 month period the lights wouldn't switch on, so was slightly surprised that the batteries would run down a full charge in such little time... still, no major drama I'd simply charge them up.
However, after putting them in my trusty (and reliable) battery charger - 6 of the 8 batteries were fault and wouldn't change - rendering them useless! All 8 went in the bin and I'll definitely think twice about buying this brand in the future!
