Pros: This is a fun construction vehicles set, and our 4-year old has been playing with them nonstop since he opened the package Xmas morning. You get a good number of vehicles, signs, little guys, etc and the crane is a good size, pretty good toy for a 4-year old.
Cons:
1. The storage/construction BOX. It took us at least 45 minutes to figure out how to get into the box in the first place. This is not ideal on Christmas morning... Our son was nearly hysterical that he couldn't get the trucks out until we finally resolved to break it open with a hammer. It did actually come apart in the end, but it's like a puzzle box (no markings, no instructions, no indication of a way in), truly frustrating for kids/parents and utterly unnecessary.
2. The "die cast" component of each vehicle is minimal, and parts of at least a few vehicles have already broken.
3. No instructions whatsoever. We're going by eye off the picture on Amazon.
4. Some pieces were missing, which we didn't notice until today, and some tools (farewell, little pickaxe!) are so tiny they slipped through the floorboards.
5. The little peg-and-hole building components (signs, etc) don't actually line up (pegs/holes), and therefore can't really be assembled.
Overall: Our son seems to be enjoying this set, it was what he wanted for Christmas, and he doesn't care about crooked stickers and uneven walls, but we are very disappointed in the actual quality of the toys for the price we paid. If this set is still intact in three months, I will be amazed. If I could do it again I would not have purchased this.
