I’m reviewing the “Delicious & Juicy” 6-pack here, not the “Best Recipes” or “Sweet Floral” sets under the same heading. Decent essential oil packs with scents like eucalyptus or lemongrass are available from dozens of manufacturers, but the fruity selection looked like it would offer something a little bit different- and it does.

What it offers is the smell of a sweet shop. All six of these scents are incredibly sweet, with far more in common with kids sweets or car air freshener scents than with the fruits they are supposed to be related to. And as someone with a sweet tooth, and given the way I use essential oils to scent rooms, I’m perfectly happy with that.

The cherry oil smells of cherry-flavoured throat sweets.
The coconut smells like a Piña Colada.
The strawberry smells of Jelly Babies, while the passion fruit smells of pick & mix jelly beans.
The watermelon does smell a bit of watermelon, but more so it smells like pear drops.
The mango feels like the odd one out, because it’s the one that actually smells of mango juice, albeit the super-sweet mango juice cartons you’ll get in a supermarket.

The presentation is fine, nothing special. The 10ml bottles are utterly standard, and fit directly into the waterless diffuser that I use, with no issues. The Phatoil branding is just a touch on the ugly side I think, but there’s nothing wrong with it, and the labels are of a quality that doesn’t peel as soon as it gets any kind of moisture on it. The outer floral box is a little bit smart, but also quite practical and space-efficient.

The quality of the oil itself seems good. It diffuses nicely, lets out its scent readily, and doesn’t seem excessively sticky. It seems to blend quite nicely too if you want to be a little more experimental.

I use more commonplace essential oil scents on a daily basis, and these have made a refreshing and frankly delicious change.
