Returned, not fit for purpose

This flash drive seemed OK when I stored around 30gb of data on it. Write speeds were only around 7 mb/s. However, I found when I stored over 50gb of data some of the files became inaccessible and corrupt. I don't believe this is a genuine 512gb flash drive and doubt it is even usb3. Returned to Amazon for refund. Don't waste your money on this, strange how every single review to date is 5 star.

When my iPod died I ended up deciding to switch everything over to a USB stick, and thought I'd hit the jackpot when I came across this. For the price I was paying for the size it offered, I was delighted.

Sadly it turns out it's about as much use as an ejector seat in a helicopter. It fills up nicely until it reaches a certain point, then deems some files are corrupt and won't transfer them.

Got to a point where I had enough and decided to send it back for a refund. Don't be fooled by the 5* reviews, read the 1* ones instead for a more accurate description.

Had to return as faulty. Just a pity it would not work as described. Nothing but problems trying to save data.
Windows would repair the stick but it still kept reporting a problem when you tried to save additional file to it. I may have just been unlucky with the one I had but I cannot recommend this item. I would advise to purchase a better known more expensive brand.

Small flash drive with decent speed

It looks beautiful. It feels cold and metallic to the touch which might help with the heat when used commonly mentioned with usb sticks. Stick capacity is clearly marked on the side of the unit. It has a hole suitable for a lanyard. I plan to come back to comment on use of the stick at a later date when I have used it more.

Please note that while it is USB3.0 interface, the memory used inside is not top speed, so you are limited a bit speed wise. In my tests I've got 20MB Read and 7MB Write. That should be plenty for general purposes like storing files or music.

Solid Build And Huge Capacity

This is a nice pen drive for the money. It has 499GB of usable space and comes formatted to FAT32 which is fairly standard in my experience. The main drawback of this is that it limits any single stored file size to a maximum of 4GB. This can easily overcome by re-formatting it to NTFS but it is worth noting that this file system is not recognized by most portable devices, however this would be true of of any storage device. Transfer rate of large files averages around 9MB/sec.
Overall good value and due to its huge capacity ideal for storing large files like HD or UHD videos.

I wanted a compact USB memory stick for backing up my laptop files in the event of a hard disk failure. This memory stick is tiny but has a really large capacity of 512GB. That is very good value for the price. I can back up my files and also image the entire hard disk onto this memory stick meaning that if my laptop hard disk failed completely, I can re-image a new hard disk using this memory stick.
All in all a decent device and good value. The build quality is solid as well since its made of metal.

Bought this to back up a load of files I have. The reviews sang its praises. Put it in, set it to copy....two hours later still at 1%. Copy speeds of 60KB / second. Either a broken unit, or a scam unit. Absolutely apalling. Avoid like the plague.

I Purchased this USB so I could transfer all my large files from my Integral USB, to this one. I managed to transfer about 30gb worth of data, then every file I tried to transfer after that became corrupted & inaccessible. I Formatted the USB several times but to no avail. I tried to transfer the same files to another USB & it worked fine. So the problem clearly lies with this USB. Also the transfer speed is INCREDIBLY SLOW! I returned this junk two days later after purchasing.
