I have been using the Oral-B Smart 6 6000N CrossAction Electric Toothbrush daily for just over 2 weeks now. I am super impressed by every attribute this toothbrush brings to dental care, and I’m truly regretting not investing and purchasing one sooner...
Let’s start with the functionality! The toothbrush comes with 3 different replaceable heads and I found that both the 3D white and sensi ultra thin brush heads worked the best for me, however, the cross action was too abrasive for me and caused a little gum bleeding which I wasn’t happy about. I guess you got to try them all the find the one that’s most suitable for you.
The Oral B toothbrush includes 5 settings: Daily clean, Pro clean, Sensitive, Whitening and Gum Care. I found that alternating between daily clean (first 1 minute), Gum Care (30 seconds) and Whitening (last 30 seconds) has helped brighten my smile significantly since use, despite using the exact same toothpaste. Every 30 seconds, the brush flashes white for 1 second so you can change settings if you want. After 2 minutes the brush will constantly flash white until you stop brushing, which will prevent over brushing your teeth. Furthermore, if too much pressure is applied when brushing, the toothbrush/app display will flash red, alerting you to apply less pressure for a safer and better quality brush.
The Oral B app is also great, and includes a timer and the current setting you are using. I love that the app has ‘medals’ that can help motivate you to keep on the brushing grind whilst allowing you to set reminders so you never forget to give your teeth a nice clean every day. Please note, the app isn’t required to use the brush, and more often than not, I use the brush without it for convenience.
The toothbrush unfortunately takes forever to charge and the battery lasts about a week when on full charge, not the estimated ‘2 weeks of charge’. This could be misleading, however I think it depends on how frequently you brush your teeth, I personally brush them 3 times a day so this could be why. The wireless charging dock requires a 2 pin charger, however I was able to purchase a 2pin to 3pin adapter for a few quid here on Amazon.
The brush even comes with a nice and clever carry case that holds 2 brush heads of your choice as well as the brush itself safe and securely. Speaking of the brush, it is relatively lightweight and is very ergonomic and easy to hold, no issues here!
Overall a great quality product that is well worth the price. I was tempted to give it a 4 star due to the charging time required, however after taking a look at my teeth right now, I couldn’t resist the 5 stars! Truly worth investing in if you want to gradually whiten your teeth the natural and healthy way!
