The Dynamax phenomenon
Dynamax is a phenomenon unique to specific locations in the Galar region, where Pokémon can take on gigantic appearances during battle, and it’s an integral part of Pokémon battles in the region.
Pokémon from the Galar region are able to Dynamax, and when they do, they become tremendously strong and receive a boost to their power.

Explore the Wild Area
The Wild Area is a vast expanse of land in the Galar region with untamed wilderness. It is full of nature and connects several different towns and cities. Trainers will find a greater variety of Pokémon living in the Wild Area than anywhere else in the Galar region.

Join a Max Raid Battle
Max Raid Battles are a new battle format that takes place in the Wild Area, in which the player will team up with up to three other Trainers online* or via local wireless** to take on a wild Dynamax Pokémon.
*Internet connection required during online play. To use online services, you must create a Nintendo Account and accept the related agreement. The Nintendo Account Privacy Policy applies. Some online services may not be available in all countries. Online play requires paid online membership.
**Local multiplayer requires one console and one copy of the software per player.

People of the Galar Region
As a resident of the Galar region, players will embark on an adventure to become the Champion and meet many people and Pokémon along the way.

Mega disappointed.
What a wasted opportunity. I hope some proper game developers make a spin off where actual wild Creatures will roam the world and have life to their actions.
By far the worst visually game that’s been on the switch by a long shot, and for one of the hugest ips you would think they would have launched something ground breaking.
The difficulty is such a joke also, it feels like a sticker book collecting game.. thankfully I ordered on amazon so I can return it. Catching pokemon has never felt so pointless because to do so will just massively overlevel you, the game actively encourages you to avoid pretty much all battles.
The entire game feels totally unpolished and buggy, so far i've had a random game crash, a bike when going near a river in the wildlands (which apparently shouldnt happen) and then random things popping in and out of the screen. Total mess.
A lot of controversy about the games but I've not had any issues, graphics look fine to me, I'd prefer to have the full Pokédex but there are plenty of Pokémon so I'm not going to spit my dumby out. It would be nice to have the option to turn the exp share off but again, for me it's not a big deal and is something that could be added with a update.
If you enjoy the general Pokémon experience I think you'll enjoy this. If you get very hot and bothered over fictional characters and have an unreasonable level of expectation ( see toxic star wars fans as an example) just take a deep breath and walk away.
The setting is great, so are a lot of the new Pokémon and the raid battles/dynamax feature. The wild area is massive and lots of fun to explore, you can even see other players if connected to the internet. Character customisation is the best it's ever been in any main series Pokémon game.
Unfortunately a lot of older Pokémon were removed from these games along with the GTS feature that's been in the games since Diamond/Pearl. Not much of a post-game either. Still no battle frontier.
Wanted a new eeveelution... Didn't get one.
Still got my Sylveon though.
Definitely give these games a try.
The one con (and only one) is the creativity of some of the Pokémon designs, but then again with over 600 individual monsters as of writing you can't really criticize as we ourselves haven't crafted that many successful creations have we?
All in all, if you are a fan of Pokémon, this is a more than worthy purchase and will have you hyped beyond believe during battles.
It is great to have a proper pokemon game on switch after the in-between titles (Let's go Eevee and Pikachu) last year.
The only negative I can think of so far is that you are told where to go, whereas in past games you had to wander about and find it for yourself. But that isn't enough to ruin the game for me.
You also cannot get every pokemon from past games but this is understandable due to the sheer amount now. It's also fun to discover the new pokemon rather than being tempted to stick to your old faves
Packaging was good and it came 11am, got a code emailed to me for extra content. Having a lot of fun and totally addicted
