I'm in two minds about this product. It is easy to apply, it seems to lubricate well, and it keeps my chain working in atrocious weather. However, it needs a complete degrease every 100 miles since it creates a very sticky black build-up on your chain and gears which is not easy to remove without a chain-cleaner device. If I don't do this the build-up will start to affect gear changing. I've use this every week for 8 months and done 4000 miles on one chain. I've just replaced my chain and the total chain wear made the overall chain length >1-link longer when compared with a new chain. This lubricant can't claim that it works well enough to eliminate chain wear, but it has kept me going through rain and snow.

I have been using this for some time but I have finally lost patience with it. Your chain gets very tacky after heavy rain and although my last problem was with a slightly bent rear derailleur after by bike fell on its side the tackiness of the chain just exasperated the problem. I'm going to try and find some better quality lube. I personally would suggest avoiding this cheap chain lube if you are an all weather cyclist.

MY first time buying Bicycle specific chain lube, and at this price you can't argue with trying it. I prefer a wet lube as it get's into all the chain's o-rings, nooks, crannies and keeps everything lubed up. Personally, i believe that you will also get more 'miles' out of it as it spreads out covering the necessary components.
It's nice and runny so doesn't require any coaxing to exit the bottle, and means that lubing the chain is quick and easy.
Bad side is it smells delicious - so you may want to put it on ice cream. Even though it is bio degradable i'd advised against it.

Bought this as a relatively novice road bike rider during lockdown based on the mega 5* reviews. 6mths later and I've had two bike shops independently (with no prompting) exclaim at how gunky and stuck together my chain is - turns out it is the muc-off! After realising it was the lube I was using with the 2nd shop they told me to throw it in the bin. Riding through the winter caused the wet lube to suck up grit and dirt and now after around 2,000 miles on what was a brand new bike I need a new chain and chain rings and to start again with a different lube. Really disappointed and I've lost faith in muc-off as a brand now. Definitely never buying again, use with caution and have fun de-greasing if you do buy it because neither bike shop could fully de-grease my chain successfully.

its works been using this for years, doesn't matter how expensive the stuff is
but for run of the mill use, its keeping your chain clean and lubricated

I tend to put some on a tooth brush on the 3 main sides and then run the chain round.
For the cassette same sort of thing , brush it on with a tootbrush

everyone has a different technique, But I've found this works for me

Been using the stuff for 10+ years and had hundreds of miles out each chain, in all weathers.

If you only buy one lube make it wet

There is an adage in the cycling world: if you only buy one chain lube, buy wet lube. This is because it is designed for wet conditions but can also work in dry conditions, the opposite is not true.

Glad I got this a bit cheaper but anywhere under a tenner and your drivetrain will last all winter long. Remember to degrease, soap and water, rinse and dry before application. Unlike dry lube I won't have to clean my drive train as often, but it won't be quite as efficient.

I'll be buying a lot more of this when I switch to a cx bike.

Essential Lube for The Bike (Not The Missus) Maintenance

Entering that time of year again, when the long evenings of dusty shreds are starting to become cold dark slop fests. Off comes the dry lube within minutes of being battered by the UK's finest of downpours.

As described on the label "WET LUBE" for wet conditions. The usability is simple and easy, first off using the label to determine if this is what you need, straightforward yes or no answer type of situation, look at the chart on the front of the bottle, dose it correlate to the riding conditions you are about to embark ?
The thin needle nose that allows the lube to flow, is easily placed into those narrow chin links with precision.
If you value the hefty sum you invested into your trusty steed, then you will no doubt know that keeping those costly consumables like chain and drive in tip top condition while still maintaining a low maintenance time sheet means more play time with less worries.
Its chain lube, for the wet, what else is there to say.

I have tried so many chain lubes over the years and never really found one that I really like, so though I would give this one a go, I always clean my chain well after any dirty or wet rides so I applied this to a very clean chain, first thing I noticed was that this lube is quite runny, unlike my previous wax based lube which ended up getting gloopier, so applying this I need to be careful not to over do it as it would just drip on the floor, I generally take my time and just drip lube on each roller, being thin it does mean that it gets into the places it needs to get into, give it a wipe and ready for a ride.
So comparing this to my old lube, old lube would make the chain very black and greasy after a ride, this was not as bad, the links still looked silver and only small traces of blackness mainly around the rollers, the chain still runs smooth after a dirty dusty 40mile ride, I could not feel any stickiness which seems to be a complaint of this product but then I don't load the chain and just put the lube where its needed, I also clean my chain regular to remove any contamination that might have started to build up, I will just have to see how long it is before I need to replace my chain which is the real test of any chain lube if it does it job as it should.
