How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

The product seems of good quality and fits my son well although I did order a medium and he is only 9 ( slim build but fairly tall 147cm ) according to the size guide this should fit someone up to 160cm but I think they would be too small. I have posted a photo of the size guide from the back of the product because when I was looking it was all guess work determining size so I hope this helps!

If confused about which is Left and which is Right (we were), this is actually indicated by L & R at the top of the shin pads. Genius!! Thankyou to another reviewer for that info!! We have 2 pairs of this type and 1 pair of the slip in type (he wanted a different colour) for our 3 teens. Middle teen found the elastic on these a bit tight so we snipped it off and tada! they are now slip ins too. Eldest & Middle (5ft7-5ft9 in height) wear large, they find them comfortable for competitive football, still using same pairs purchased in Sept 2018. Youngest is 5ft, so should have medium, but we went with small as he has quite slim shins and didn't want them too bulky (only wears for PE), recently purchased.

From a 50 year old football veteran.
Played regionally at a high standard before easing into vets football.
Must have bought dozens of pads over the years and every type you could imagine at all price points.
I mainly used the larger ‘material’ pads with the inserts sewn inside with the ankle collar.
These are all I now use.
Bought some on a whim as a ‘spare’ pair.
These pads are a lightweight shaped protective shin guard that can take anything you come up against from a school yard to an ugly Sunday pub league game.
Not just for children.
Outstanding value and as good as anything you’ll find in Sports Direct or any ‘pro’ shin pad advertised on the high street.

I am not an expert in shin pads. I purchased them for my daughter and she took them to school. The PE teacher said these were the best quality shin pads they have tested. I am a little concerned how they tested them but it seems she has recommended them to the other kids.
Please note, I have not been given a discount or got this product free. I paid full whack for them. They are reasonably priced and arrived on time.

The XS are for up to 120cm in height but are very small on my daughter who is that height. The pads are 6" in height so we consider ld have managed a size or two larger. Other than that great pads, this is the second pair we have and the others have lasted a couple of years.

Thought I'd wait a little while before reviewing these to see how they held up and happy to report these are still going strong!
As most parents will know, your child will immediately make you aware if something they are wearing is uncomfortable and I've yet to hear any complaints from my son. In fact, on several occasions he's forgotten to take them off after training!
The honeycomb mesh also means they are far less sweaty following a football session, that ventilation must be doing a great job to keep his skin cool throughout training.
6 months on, no signs of damage or wear, they're holding up pretty well in my eyes.

First a quick word on sizing - I was a bit confused after reading some of the other reviews but can report than the Small is pretty much perfect for our 9 year old daughter who is about 136cm tall - I was considering the next size up but having tried these I feel that would have been a little too big. You don't want shin pads to impede on your movement or feel awkward when wearing them, which can be the case if they are too large.
The shin pads themselves are great - lightweight yet nice and solid and offering loads of protection. Most importantly they are very breathable so don't get sweaty and clammy like other's we have used, even when worn for extended periods.
In conclusion then these are great for the money - yes there are loads of others that are slightly cheaper but I'd suggest it's worth paying a little more as these hit that sweet spot for price v performance.

These are great little shin pads for kids.
Word of warning - my daughter is 6yrs, almost 7. From the recommendations a size small was suitable - however, she should of had the medium for proper protection, comfort and use.
