My main concern is that this book if being promoted by someone on you tube aimed at 12/13/14 year olds.
I do not consider this modern poetry.
As someone who has worked with adult surivors I would say this is not suitable reading let alone for a teenager.

When the book arrived I thought it looked lovely. However I then went on and started to read the book and was very shocked by the contents. Quite graphic, uncomfortable “short stories“ or “quotes” whatever you want to call them.
I would not recommend this book to anyone looking for nice quotes or a positive read. I bought a book about self-love and this was on the recommended list.
If you're new to poetry and are looking for a poetry book to get you started, I would definitely recommend Milk and Honey to you! Easy to read yet packed with emotion and small details, Milk and Honey is sure to pull you into the wonderful world of poetry.
Throughout the book, we are treated to some beautiful illustrations which compliment the poems perfectly.
Give this book a go, even if poetry isn't your thing as you will likely be pleasantly surprised! I passed this book onto one of my best friends who I thought would also benefit from hearing these poems of real, heart wrenching life struggles.
Milk and Honey is one book that will stay with me in my heart for a long time!
