Delicate scent, non-greasy, easily absorbed - definitely worth a try

I bought this product in June 2022 for about £3.50 and I have to say that I really like it, although it is not without shortcomings. It is marketed as a balm but it's really more of a lotion: it is quite thin and a little watery in comparison with many of Nivea's other men's offerings; a bit reminiscent of Nivea's now-discontinued Oil-Free Moisturising Fluid. I absolutely love the fragrance: it is really clean and discreet - not at all overpowering or offensive. I sometimes use the Body Shop's hemp hand creams and they REALLY stink of hemp, but this has a soft, green, masculine fragrance to it which is really appealing on its own but importantly it also doesn't seem to interfere with any aftershave you might use. Even though it contains hemp seed oil, it absorbs extremely well and leaves no oily residue on the skin - it seems to slightly 'mattify' your skin, too. It also feels really gentle: I have quite sensitive skin but this doesn't irritate me whatsoever. I'm not sure how well it would work as a post-shave product as I have a beard, but it suspect it would be calming and soothing without being overly heavy.

However, the fact that the product is quite thin in consistency means that it isn't the best I've tried in terms of moisturising properties. It does the job well, but it doesn't feel like an absolute powerhouse moisturiser and you may find that you need to reapply later in the day as your skin starts to dry and tighten again. Definitely worth trying if you need a lighter and less oily face moisturiser, though.

It’s great and I don’t hesitate to recommend it. Since using this and the shaving balm I’ve even been able to shave twice a day for an evening event etc, which, in the past, would normally have caused my face to erupt in blotches and burns. Not any more. I found it because of the price but will re order and stay with it because it’s great. Rated the scent as five because to me there’s hardly any and if you want to mask it with Brut or eau de cologne you can. I’ve just tried that and it worked for me, so please don’t shoot the messenger!
