Love and Other Words Kindle Edition
An uplifting and unforgettable read that will make you fall in love with life again . . .
'You can never go wrong with Christina Lauren!' Paige Toon
'A true joy from start to finish' Kristin Harmel
Macy is settling into an ambitious if emotionally tepid routine: work hard as a new paediatrics resident, plan her wedding to an older, financially secure man, keep her head down and heart tucked away.
But when she runs into Elliot - the first and only love of her life - the careful bubble she's constructed begins to dissolve. Once upon a time, Elliot was Macy's entire world - growing from her gangly teen friend into the man who coaxed her heart open again after the loss of her mother . . . only to break it on the very night he declared his love for her.
Told in alternating timelines between Then and Now, teenage Elliot and Macy grow from friends to much more - spending weekends and lazy summers together reading books and talking through their growing pains and triumphs. As adults, they have become strangers to one another until their chance reunion. Although their memories are obscured by the agony of what happened that night so many years ago, Elliot will come to understand the truth behind Macy's decade-long silence, and will have to overcome the past and himself to revive her faith in the possibility of an all-consuming love.
The heart-breaking and heart-warming read from No. 1 international bestselling author Christina Lauren, author of The Unhoneymooners and The Soulmate Equation.

I fell in love with this story immediately - there were no pauses to think and consider whether I liked what I was reading - the book just settled straight into my heart and it felt incredibly right in my soul. I absolutely adored this book, and it isn't one that I'll be forgetting any time soon. In fact, I would go as far to say that it is a book that I will go back to at some point in the very near future. I added a lot of sticky tabs throughout and I genuinely do look forward to going back to them and reading my favourite parts again.
There are some massively important topics covered in this one - and I think they definitely, 100% hit the mark on women's fiction.
If you read something to kick start 2022 is should be this. And then read it at least once a year for the rest of your life. It's the kind of book that makes you want to be a poet, learn new words. Have a closet to hide in filled with beautiful books. Makes you appreciate things more. Cry with hurt for your favourite characters but also laugh out loud. I can't recommend this book enough.
I highly recommend this book. It is now one of my favourite stories that has stayed in my thoughts long after I finished reading it.
Before Macy's mother died, she left a list of things she wanted Macy's dad to remember to do. One being to take Macy away whenever school gets too much. This resulted in Macy's dad buying a vacation home beside Elliot's house. Elliot is this sweet little boy who loves books. Becoming best friend's, they learn and grow up together. 11 years later, we find out what kept these two apart.
Overall, the book was a real journey of emotions. Highs and lows. A very enjoyable reading experience.
I really connected with this book I've ordered a physical copy of it too I just have to have it! Defo give this a read if you're a sucker for romance!
