Ten years ago, DCI Jack Logan stopped the serial child-killer dubbed 'Mister Whisper,' earning himself a commendation, a drinking problem, and a broken marriage in the process.
Now, he spends his days working in Glasgow's Major Investigations Team, and his nights reliving the horrors of what he saw.
And what he did.
When another child disappears a hundred miles north in the Highlands, Jack is sent to lead the investigation and bring the boy home.
But as similarities between the two cases grow, could it be that Jack caught the wrong man all those years ago?
And, if so, is the real Mister Whisper about to claim his fourth victim?

I’ve pre ordered the next Logan novel and really hope it’s as good as the first.
Well, A Litter of Bones, ticked every box multiple times. I love this author's style, and as it's his first crime novel he's done more than a first class job. The characters are well thought out and diverse, the protagonist DCI Jack Logan is an absolute dream of a character. He doesn't suffer fool's gladly, doesn't always play by the rules, justice is paramount, and his team are an unknown quantity, as he's bought into cover a crime in up in the Highlands!
An intriguing introduction to the plot, moves quickly, to pull you in with highs and lows and lots of hold your breath moments. Heart stopping then pulse racing moments throughout, giving your system a thrilling workout. It's a cleverly written storyline that's different, parts you don't see coming. Written in such away, the author makes you feel like your watching from inside the book.
The dialogue and banter throughout this book, is just wonderful including some brilliantly funny quips!
I honestly can't recommend this book highly enough, it's a fabulous first, of I hope many more books to this series featuring the wonderful irrepressible DCI Jack Logan!
Book 2 released on 30th June can't wait!
The characters in this narrative are wonderfully described particularly the interaction between the members of the investigative team. There is some humour between them but mostly tension as they sought to find the boy before he is found dead. The story kept me listening avidly right to the end. I particularly like the Scottish brogue of the narrator which added to the narrative atmosphere. I thoroughly recommend this book to all fans of this genre.
