This is the second purchase of Le Toy Van cars we have bought for our toddler. While these may not be made from solid oak (I believe they are MDF or similar) they are nicely designed, the wheels and axles feel solid and they take a good beating. The packaging was also noticeably presentable and had no unnecessary plastic ties etc. The paint finish is fairly solid but don't expect it to stand up to a few dozens crashes, tosses and rolls across the floor. It will eventually start to wear. What was important for us was the confidence that these items are over engineered to the point loose pieces would not be found by our 1 year old, which I have complete faith in as they are solidly built.
These are slightly more expensive than some of the competitors but I fell in love with the design. They have a certain "je nais ce quoi" as their website claims, that some other designs do not. Having already purchased the small 3 piece retro set and the London set, we look forward to expanding the collection in-time for Christmas.
