The Lansinoh® Compact Single Electric Breast Pump is ideal for today's busy mum, who is always on the move with little time to spare. Simple to use, with a convenient LED indicator which shows the strength of suction and clear controls on the top of the unit to increase and decrease suction levels. When babies breastfeed, they start with quick sucking to stimulate milk let-down and flow. Once milk has let down, the baby draws the milk out with slower, deeper sucks. To simulate this natural rhythm, the Lansinoh® Compact Single Electric Breast Pump offers 2-phase technology; 'let down' phase delivers rapid suction that initiates milk flow, while the 'expression' phase offers slower and deeper suction. It has 5 adjustable suction levels, so you can tailor the settings for your comfort. The pump features an automatic power off, if it is left unattended for more than 60 minutes. How to use Always begin an expressing session with clean, washed hands. Make yourself comfortable with snacks or water on hand; turn on the tv, listen to the radio or have your phone to keep you company. Turn on the Compact Single Electric Breast Pump. Place the breast cushion over the breast, making sure the nipple is in the centre. The Breast Pump will begin in 'let down' phases which delivers rapid suction that initiates milk flow. This will automatically change to 'expression' after 2 minutes. The 'expression' phase offers slower and deeper suction. You are also able to tailor the pumping style to suit your own needs with five different, effective suction levels to choose from within the 'expression' phase with the adjustable suction levels for comfort with easy to use '+' and '-' control buttons. This is my second baby I’m struggling to breastfeed without having to express too and over the years I have used many different types and makes ranging for domestic or hospital strength machines- this one is easily the best domestic breast pumps I have come across and can easily compete with the more expensive hospital strength pumps! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to any new mums.
The only downside is that It doesn’t come with batteries as well as a power cable - but not a big deal for me.

Easy to use. Cleaning easy.
However valves wear out after about a week which means that less milk is expressed. I started out expressing around 90ml each time to being lucky if I got 60ml a time. This is very disappointing when you’re using the milk to feed your baby. I haven’t used any other pumps so hard to compare but not very satisfied. Emailed company to complain and they did send a new set of valves very quickly. But this isn’t enough when the valves are only of high quality for a week.

Feels very well made. Pump base is heavy and study enough to rest on the side of a side / table etc.

Set up is fairly straightforward and the cup does a good job of sealing. If you lose focus and tip the cup off alignment you will lose some milk - so beware that you need to hold the cup on the breast in perfect alignment constantly during pumping. A double cupped pump would be very difficult to use in practice.

The perfect pump (nudge nudge Lanisoh) would be compact enough to hold onto the breast without needing a separate tube out to a compressor like this one does (ie the pump ergonomically attached to the cup).

All main parts fit easily into a well know Steriliser brand.

Main qualm is that it’s a little expensive, highly doubt that cheaper pumps would be much less effective but cannot say for certain.

Disappointing. The pump in itself is good. Great suction, the cup is big enough and seals around the breast fine. valve life is alright. The whole set is portable and straight forward to use. However the plug to energy is very weak and any movement will get it disconnected. Middle of the night, or when moving into different rooms, have to keep plugging/repuggling, or have the session interrupted many times by this nonsense. Breastfeeding is already painful enough without this kind of annoying faults...another small thing that makes a good difference would be to have a machine with a timer imbedded as it makes life much easier than handling it on the phone with one hand...

Setting up the pump was straightforward and easy to do. The pump comes with a bottle if you are expressing then feeding straight away. I used differently bottles so unable to comment on the teat. I expressed into the lanisoh freeze bags and connecting these to the pump worked amazing well.

The pump is small and compacted so easy to store when not being used. The pump starts of in the let down phase, my milk started flowing before the suction started so I switched to suction rather than letting the let down finish automatically.
There are different suction levels and I only used two of these and found them both comfortable. The pump didn't nip/pull which I found with previous pump.
The funnel/breast cushion that comes with the pump was the correct size and fitted well to the areola and nipple area.
The pump hardly made any noise so I was able to pump during the night without causing disruption to my partner and baby whilst they slept in the same room.
I used the pump whilst being connected to the mains and found the length of the wire ok.
Some people may need to use an adapter dependant on your plug sockets.
The parts come apart easily to clean/sterilise.
I didn't use the pump on the go so can not comment on the specification of using on the go or with a battery pack.
Would reccomend to anyone who is thinking of expressing

I loved it at first. It then stopped working after a year maybe-issues with the mocro USB.i dodnt contact lansinoh cos I wasn't using it at that time. I now have had another baby and wanted to use it and it is still not working. Lansinih will not help because it is 2yrs old so outside of the warranty. If u want to buy a product that lasts max 2years then go ahead. I didnt... thought i was buying a quality product from a quality manufacturer. Should have gone with Medela...

Super easy to use you don't want to be faffing around with attaching parts when you have a new born. Easy to use settings and the suction in this is amazing and is not loud at all so you can use it while babh is sleeping if he/she is a light sleeper. I would recommend this product to any mum to be or anyone thinking if expressing milk. It does also come with a bottle you can use that on a daily basis for feed times aswell.
