Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

My mum uses baby shampoo as she has very fine and flyaway hair and this was recommended to her as it's mild and gentle formulation is ideal for delicate hair and maintaining scalp health.
The eco-refill packaging contains 90% less plastic than 2 x 500ml bottles and can fill up 2 x 500ml bottles. The packaging is also said to be recyclable as it is a paper and plastic mix. I am however not all that certain if my local recycling centre do recycle this combination and will need to check so the jury is still out on this claim.
It is very easy to use, shake and then unscrew the cap of the eco-refill pack and also remove the top of the bottle (twist and pull up) you plan to pour the shampoo into. Pour in the shampoo from the pack to the bottle. Put back on the cap of the pack and the top of the bottle.
Priced at £4.50 at the time of this review, this seems very reasonable and about what you'd pay for 2 x 500ml bottles at the supermarket (unless they are on offer so cheaper). I am therefore happy to recommend this product, and I might consider Amazon.co.uk's 'Subscribe and Save' (as it is even cheaper utilising this option) if my mum approves it.
Putting that aside, I like the packaging, plus Johnsons have been kind to remove the harmful ingredients such as SLS, parabens & dyes & their classic baby shampoos are made with 95% natural ingredients. I wrote to them about this 5 years ago & I'm pleased they take consumer comments into consideration.
It'd be nice if more companies started getting rid of plastic (& use recycled cardboard, which should be cheaper for them too) but not at a cost to the consumer.
The scent is nice and it lathers really well so only a small amount is needed. Sometimes it can run into her eyes and it doesn't seem to bother her that much. The shampoo leaves her hair feeling lovely and soft and tangle free.
I like the new eco refill cartons and it's currently priced at £4 so it's only slightly more expensive than buying 2x 500ml bottles. The cartons do look like juice though and I ended up finding this in the fridge as my partner put it away with the food shopping as I had left it on the kitchen side 🤦🏼♀️
The carton is easy to pour into the plastic bottles and the lid screws back on easily.
If I saw this on the shelf next to the plastic bottles then I'd probably still choose the plastic bottles unless this was similar price😕
It’s a great idea and an easy way to reduce single use plastic, if more products did this it would impact the needless waste we accumulate each year. In the UK alone we produce two million metric tons of plastic waste I can’t even get my head around how big that figure is!
Value for money is better than buying the bottled version, I’ve worked out it is 45p cheaper than my local Tesco so a saving to be had too, the biggest saving though is the planet. Baby shampoo and baby steps towards a better more efficient way of providing goods and reducing plastic, well done Johnson’s!
