This might be aimed at toddlers, but all 3 of my nephews (3, 9, and 12) love these rocket launchers. There’s a little bit of assembly required to set this up before use, but it’s pretty straightforward and the boys have no problem with putting together the launching base for themselves. The set comes with three lightweight foam rockets. Launching is done by stepping on (or pressing) a fairly sizeable plastic foot pump.
This is a good fun bit of kit to play in an outdoor space. I’ve had a couple of similar sets in the past - the boys are somewhat prone to ‘losing’ rockets (primarily when they have aimed for the trees, over the hedge, or the roof of the house). This is a good set, which feels reasonably robust, with decent quality elements. The set is a bit smaller than others - with only 3 rockets included - but at the current price of £9.99 is also a bit cheaper.
Assembly takes literally one minute and you are ready to start launching foam missiles. Comes with 3 rockets (one of which had a bent wing due to the way that it was packed) and launching was easily achieved by my 4 year-old tester jumping onto an air reservoir that attaches to the rocket holder via a plastic tube.
However, it can be annoying to aim the rockets as the angle or direction changes according to where you position the reservoir and tends to move every time the reservoir is jumped on.
Beyond that, it is a great toy for indoors (works outdoors as well but one just has to be aware that the rocket doesn't fly over a fence or wall into the neighbour's garden).
The key point is that from the moment our little tester started playing it was not put down and new "games" were constantly being developed.
So, great packaging, great product, great price from a great company - absolute winner, just buy it and have fun.
The packaging in all honesty whilst looking great is irrelevant.
Kids want to play with the contents.
Anyway it was enough to set up and connect all the parts such as the legs and tubing and allow the kids to start having fun relatively quickly.
We went away last week for an extended family break, lots of kids present and keeping them entertained on a pretty quiet farm camp site with not much for kids to do, this stomp rocket provided the kids with hours of fun.
Every child gave this a go and each one wanting to stomp the rockets higher and higher and further away.
It was great to get them running and exercising, chasing after their rockets which in turn, along with lots of other games we'd provided, tired them all out allowing the adults to enjoy a relatively quiet evening of having a barbie and a few drinks lol.
This wasn't just a one hit wonder either, the kids played with this again the following day as well with the same amount of fun.
I have seen slightly larger stomp rocket sets at this price elsewhere, simply packaged and frill free.
The rockets in this kit are a bit on the small side and were quite (tight) snug fitting on the launcher, but they still launched effectively.
I felt the tubing could have been longer as well as it seems rather short.
The set is safe for kids, the rockets are made from foam so no need to worry about this landing on someones head or smacking them in the face!
The packaging looks great but the product inside is not worth more than a fiver in my opinion!
Although they have great ideas for children, not everything they sell is of great quality.
This rocket launcher is really light, a "feather". The structure is not very robust, but the main problem is the rockets. My three-year-old broke them while my six-year-old and I were still admiring the uniqueness of the game. Instead of rockets, we then found ourselves with suppositories U_U He broke all the wings.
The toy works well. It needs to be assembled, after which pushing with the foot on the green foot pump the rockets fly away. Very nice! I was also very excited. However, make sure that the tube is not directed by the neighbours. My kids made two out of three rockets disappear. Now we are only playing with one rocket.
The quality is not excellent but the price is not very high, so with a little forethought, you have a very nice game at a low cost.
This manual rocket launching pack is a fun and innocent toy ideal for a stocking filler - it’s traditional design will keep the children busy putting it together and having a laugh getting them to launch. It’s a safe product for children to use independently - my 6y nephew managed this well with no incidents under supervision. Totally gift-able on every level.
Jaques of London always go the extra mile with their products - you even get a discount code in the box with each product in a “treasure chest” theme at the moment. I really cannot recommend enough - you won’t regret it - buy this today.
