I love Jane's blog and her recipes always turn out exactly as you want them to and are easy to follow. I mostly make her cakes and cupcakes and have done so for years. I picked up this book to support more than anything and because I thought it would be a nice addition to my cookbook collection.
The recipes look good and familiar, everything is laid out well in terms of the written content. For me though, I really massively prefer seeing photos of the finished recipes to give ideas on decorating and what I'm aiming to achieve. There are a lot of recipes in this book without photos which is disappointing to me. I'd rather use her blog where I can see everything.
I have no doubt the recipes themselves will be tasty and the content is good (lots and lots of cheesecakes, some cakes and cookies, brownies and blondies, a wide variety of recipes), but for me as a cookbook this falls short due to lack of photos.

Good book but a lot of same flavours across bakes and not many older top recipes

I love Jane’s Patisserie and the book looks great. One initial observation is that there seems to be a few flavours that repeat across bakes (bakewell, lemon, lime). There also doesn’t seem to be many of her original most popular bakes which would be good to have in one place. Also, although it’s great to have ‘customisable’ comments, there aren’t really any initial basics, I.e vanilla cupcakes/cake or chocolate simple ones that can also be adapted. Some of her basics have been the best. Agree with a previous comment that there’s not enough photos, sometimes it’s nice to know you’re on track with how it should look, even if it doesn’t!Overall though the book does look good and some interesting new ones too, just knocked a star off as I’m not sure it’s the staple I’d hoped it to be in the kitchen, as well as a few pages having creases in when I’ve only just opened it.

Overall though the book does look good and some interesting new ones too, just knocked a star off as I’m not sure it’s the staple I’d hoped it to be in the kitchen, as well as a few pages having creases in when I’ve only just opened it.

This is a fabulous book which I am going to love baking from. Jane has put together this book beautiful with some amazing recipes which I look forward to baking. I have been following her blog for many years snd her recipes are the very best and I often make her cheesecakes which is a perfect recipe. Thankyou Jane for this amazing book !
