About this item
- TRANSFORM YOUR COFFEE: Paper filters are known to produce a brighter, sweeter cup of coffee compared to metal filters. Paper filters are absorbent and tightly woven to filter out most of the oils and micro-grounds
- EASY TO USE: Simply rinse the paper with boiling water before use. Rinsing helps to minimise the paper taste as you get to the end of your brew and helps the coffee to filter through easier

- COMPATIBILITY: Hario V60 Paper Coffee Filters are available in sizes 01 and 02. Perfect for everyday use, this cone pour-over filter is designed to work with their V60 line of pour-over brewers to produce a superior cup of coffee
- AFTER BREW: Hario Paper Filters are easy to clean up. Remove the soaked filter from your coffee dripper after your brewing and dump the grounds into a waste bin. The filter papers are for one time use and entirely disposable

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
Anyways, If anyone is in the same boat, you can find the "HARIO VCF-02-40W" at other online retailers for a reasonable price.
Hope this helps.

Not a coffee expert but will give my findings in case anyone find it of interest before purchasing. Going through quite a bit of coffee at the moment so thought i'd get these cheaper holland ones. And maybe all the low star reviews are more expert coffee drinkers and it would not apply to myself.
Comparing to filters that came with the V60.
Paper feel - definitely different but close enough. Has V60 embossed on the filters which the originals did not.
Rinse filter - has a slight whiff when rinsing but quite faint and disappears quickly
Filter thickness - takes a little longer to drip through. Has not ripped yet.
Taste - maybe just a tiny paper taste, although could just be me since can smell it whilst rinsing .
On one hand they work and get the job done. If the V60 did not come with those filters then I would be very happy with these. As they are a bit cheaper you kind of forgive it as it isn't a major problem for me (assuming the £6 ones are the same as the ones that came with the v60 kit).
Forgot to add; the coffee residue that lines up the side of the filter is much thicker than the one on the original v60 filter.
I like to do an initial 30 sec to wet the grounds, then fill the v60 and leave it alone. Even the initial drain is slow with this, and it takes over 3 minutes to drain from full, so I have to watch it and remove it after 3 min to prevent over extraction.
To start with and to dispel any conspiracies, they are genuine Hario filters, but they're made in Holland, not in Japan. They're made from a different type (or weave) of paper, and it's a bit inconvenient they don't come in a box as once they're open, they're open (stupid comment of the day).
I used one as soon as they arrived and immediately noticed they were a slower filter than the Japanese one. Using my 'daily driver' beans which are on the lighter side of the roast chart, the same quantity (15g coffee to 250g water), at the same grind size from my Knock Feldgrind (2:4), and using the same technique for both (James Hoffmann's Ultimate V60 technique in this instance), I found the Dutch filters were 50 seconds slower than the Japanese ones (a 3m0s total brew time vs 2m10).
I tried increasing the grind size and the gap was shorter, and as you'd expect, with a finer grind size, the gap widened. I haven't however had any issues with clogging as some users have reported (I'll try a darker roast and see if the additional oils cause the paper issues), nor are my papers heavily perfumed.
In short, I think they're OK and worth ago, just be prepared to adjust your grind size if you still want to hit your target brew time. Likewise if you want to achieve longer brew times because you prefer stronger coffee, you don't have a grinder that can grind fine enough, or have pre-ground cafetiere coffee, these will slow the brew down for you and might be a better option over the Japanese papers.
These V60 filters come in a number of varieties, sizes, colours, etc. The "size 1" seems to be a little shorter, and I found that coffee grounds tended to spill over. The "size 2" seems about right for us. We did find ones that were larger, but the lip kept folding over while I was pouring, sending grounds cascading down into my cup.
It'd say that it takes a little practice to get the filter set up and filled to the right level, and it takes some experience to know how much to pour over to get the right strength, but once you're up to speed, these filters work the best of those we've tried. It also helps that they're the most cost-effective.
