This is a believable, thought provoking, well researched historical novel delivered with all the charm and expertise you would normally associate with Fern's books. A departure indeed but a welcome change and a first class novel. Highly recommended.
Now if you want a “ history “lesson that’s what Google and the library is for!!!
You know she says it’s her version based on the true people involved….
I purchased this book as a holiday read… first time EVER a book isn’t coming home with me.
