...... the minimum recommendation is 4 stars. I didn't realise it was so low prior to purchase. Pretty poor protection. It amounts to less than 60% of UVA blocked.
UVA waves cause premature ageing and skin cancers.
Will try another brand with a 5 star rating. Which is what I presumed I was getting here due to rave reviews.

This only has a 3-star UVA protection. What is the point of being SPF 50 when it only has 3-star UVA?

To better understand what this means.

The star rating measures the amount of ultraviolet 'A' radiation (UVA) protection. You should see a star rating of up to 5-stars on UK sunscreens. The higher the star rating, the better. Star shows the level of protection from UVA rays. UVA rays are present at all times during daylight hours, and while you might not immediately see their effects, they’re very powerful. They can penetrate clouds and even glass. They penetrate the skin more deeply than UVB rays to cause long-term damage (including all types of skin cancer) and play a major part in the ageing process, such as causing wrinkles, sun spots and leathery skin.

SPFs are rated on a scale of 2 to 50+ based on the level of protection they offer, with 50+ offering the strongest form of UVB protection. The higher the SPF rating the better the protection from UVB rays which are the sun rays that are mostly responsible for sunburn and skin reddening. They don’t penetrate as deeply as UVA rays, but they’re just as damaging. They play a large part in the development of skin cancers including melanoma. You might get a tan but you also cause premature skin ageing and old leathery looking skin over years of exposure.

It was not clear what the star rating was from the description selling the product and for the price at £12 for one 40mL bottle I expected better protection. I wrongly assumed it would be 5-star. I don’t consider this good value for money or able to provide the UVA protection i was lookig for. I therefore award it one star.

I have super sensitive skin and eczema and for the longest time I didn't know if I would find a sun cream that wouldn't leave my skin swollen and red and itchy. After doing some research I found this sun cream recommended in a list article along with products that were £100+ so since this stuff was much cheaper I thought I should try it.

I can use this and my skin doesn't react! (mostly, the skin around my mouth reacts a little, but I can avoid that area pretty easily).

I used this while working long hours in the sun and in water and at the end of the day I didn't get burnt at all, while the person I was working with (who had laughed a bit at my spf50 sun cream) was burnt.

I'm so happy to have found some sun protection that I can use, I can finally go outside in the summer with skin exposed!

Having eczema and contact skin allergies it can be difficult to find skin products. There are so many products that claim to be suitable for sensitive skin and I still react to them. Sun cream in particular I have a problem with as they can be too heavy and irritating.

This sun cream works really well. Because it’s especially for the face it is formulated to be lighter but is still just as effective for a 50SPF. It applies really easily and is not thick or heavy at all for the SPF, it is almost unnoticeable when applied. It does not irritate my skin at all, so would say it is suitable for very sensitive skin.

Lasts a long time but it is a small tube, because i use it for my neck and arms as well the tube doesn’t last too long. I only ever buy this on special offer to make it better value.

I've tried SO many face SPF's and after only using this for one day I can already tell it's my favourite! I have combination/ oily skin (very oily tzone, dry cheeks) and this goes on beautifully. It's so thin and liquidy, it disappears into nothing on your face without leaving any kind of cast, residue or greasiness. Make up sits amazingly on top of it too. My boyfriend also loves it!

Finally a sunscreen that agrees with my sensitive acne prone skin! It doesn't cause breakouts, has a thin lightweight texture and works well layered under makeup. I've seen this product recommended again and again by different skincare experts so decided to try it out myself and now have it on repeat buy. Sunscreen is a must everyday, especially if you are using products that make your skin more prone to sun damage such as exfoliating acids or retinoids. This one is a great formula and excellent price. Although it's good for day to day wear because it only has a 3 star protection rating I would choose to take something else while on holiday.
