Microsoft confirm there are problems with this game.
They shouldn't release games if you can't install them on your Xbox X......!
Anyway, the game finally arrived, but one has to be extremely patient. It took literally 48 hours for the update downloads and installation to complete. However, the graphics are fantastic. One would think that they were watching a film, such is the degree of realism.
I do not think that we will see our son again for a long time.
brakes are say 90% front biased, you will lock up no matter what car you drive.. handling is flimsy at best no matter what car your driving & the audio track "engine notes are so basic it makes racing sims from the early 90's look/sound amazing"
this game is all centred around the hype of the game series & the following of newer game systems more then the actual game play... for anyone to play this game to any basic level you must correct the vehicle suspension set-up & brake set-up for having a slight chance of winning....
oddly I rate the need for speed game of late 90's to early 2k alot better & more dynamic in game play, their so much that is similar in this game taken from the N4S games, however poorly carried-out. so sorry to say its frustrating to enjoy.. that's even after the initial multiple hours of installation time required, the maps/tracks played seem very short to incredibly basic to race along scenery when racing is also pretty basic in comparison to most N4S games as its wide open "nothingness too a race track/small village style" sorry to say this is a game on false hype & low gaming play standards... I'm only referring to single playing mode as I've yet to play online with any series-X game or game as general with the X-box etc for most I'd suggest ppl hold back from buying & simply wait for used sales OR for the price to be dropped to near/around half price. I'd certainly not have paid £40-45 if I'd known this is what the game is actually like
ORIGIANL COMMENT... below
ok I'm very new to the late & latest Xbox systems, I've just purchased a Xbox series-X Halo edition (looks nice nothing else is different except it includes a digital downloadable halo game etc) anyway
upto now I'm shocked at the inability to load a game into the drive & simply playing it.. now you've to download X-amount of GB's to install parts/updates onto the drive & then your able to play the games.. upto now I've installed shy of 20GB's to the initial install for this Froza 5 game, it said ready to play, clicking on the game it said it requires a further update... SHOCKER!!! 90GB to download, using BT superfast connection it estimated shy of 7hrs to download...
so my initial review is your required to download a ton before even getting to do anything with this game. the Xbox series X wi-fi operating system/software is horribly slow.... compare downloading similar sized files onto your smartphone it takes minutes... anyway "again" initial review anyone getting this OR any series X system don't expect your kids to be play any games straight away on Xmas morning I've 6games & they all require upwards of 1-2-3hrs of downloading prior to game playing & YES you can't download/install & play something else..
so for now I'm shocked at what's required to even install this game.. then reading other reviews "will the game actually still play after such?????"
so
installation time - initially 2hrs (20'ish GB's)
update required immediately - 6-7hrs (90+ GB's)
game play unknown due to the above, I'll update when this occurs
ok update!!! I've carried out ALL the updates/installation required for this game.. grand total of 102.75GB required to download (yes slightly more then my 1st downloaded estimate shown) anyway.. it works in single player... I've not joined the online gaming yet as I'm getting to know the game 1st... so with very little playing
graphics "EXCELLENT" hmmm
handling erm very wooden, it seems the developers have gone for graphics over game play etc
sounds, again engine notes etc again are basic & I mean basic ie from the 80-90's, if you remember the original need for speed engine notes that's basically what you get with this
views, yes you've many different racing viewing options.
I'll add abit more with more experience etc
As is always the case with buying modern video games, buying early means you pay the most for the least complete version of the game, with the most bugs. But I'm still having a lot of fun with it and these games tend to have long lifespans with plenty of content in the pipeline, so you'll get great value for it, even if you do pay the full £50+ launch price.
The publishing of Xbox games to disk has gone downhill a lot over the last few years, basically, if you are in a poor internet area you should play something else as this would be a bad purchase for you, bugs from old games are still in this one and never fixed over years ago, the game has a lot of DLC & MTX probably as it's on gamepass, but this means it affects the full price game as well almost all Xbox games are now like this but it breaks the experience and the value of the game
I don’t like you have to choose your name from a list I would’ve rather typed my own name into name bar
I don’t like it the checkpoints if you miss one you have to go back to checkpoint. Why can’t you just mine is the time in continue in the race.
The GPS sound is hit & miss when what tell you where to go. And wished GPS would show inside the car when in first person mode
