The mat doesn’t fit the inside sponge perfectly but I am ok with that.
It’s soft and thick and perfect size for kids but only for me is the colour thing.
Cover is a bit too thin, a thicker one would make up the price.
There is just slightly too much material for the padded insert, so if the creases from the excess material bother you (or you know they will bother your little one) then you need to work out all the extra material and creases outwards and downwards if you can towards the base as you can then tuck the few CM's extra underneath to keep it ultra smooth and crease-free. There is actually enough material extra to justify trimming this or running your sewing machine along the line of the base of the padding with the material pulled out which I intend to do. Other than this it's pretty much perfect and the foam is supportive but soft enough for the age range to be very comfortable through it's softness without being easily misshapen. Any older/heavier though and you will need to re-shape it with a beating or two now and then as it's pretty soft and easily indented with heavier weight on it.
Really lovely and although you can get very cheap ones I think for the quality this is worth the extra and you will absolutely love how soft and silky it is.
The main appeal of this is the design, and the fact that the outer cover (with the design on it) can be washed. I suppose something like this is good to attract the attention of your child and make them more likely to want to learn about praying, but you're paying quite a heavy price for it. The manufacturers state that it can be hung on the wall... which is true! But this doesn't sit perfectly flat, so you're going to have some ugly creased piece hanging off your walll.... Not ideal! Even the washing thing seems a bit unnecessary to me... Unless it's for a toddler, I don't see why a child would be making a mess on their prayer mat during prayers. Yes, they could end up spilling something on it, but just keep it out of sight until prayer time.
Overall, I think it makes for a really nice gift for a small child.... But I don't think it's worth the price for you to buy for your own child.
The mat comes in a very nice box which is designed well and equipped with a fabric handle. When you open the box the mat itself is wrapped in tissue paper and a company sticker to seal it.
The mat itself is folded tightly in the box, which has caused the base of it to become misshapen and no longer lay flat. The cover of the mat which shows the rocket design is already showing sign of wear and tear due to the thinness and it being separate to the base.
The cover itself is soft and the fact that is removable so you can wash it is a great feature. The underside of the cover also has non-stick grip which is good so the mat doesn’t move whilst being used.
However the cover does move very easily as it is not fixed to the base.
Overall, I highly suggest the company to change the way in which they pack the mat into the box to prevent it getting damaged.
