We needed a replacement Shredder for use in a small office environment 4-5 people. We already own one of these shredders so knew how good they are. In comparison to other shredders one of the big plus points with this shredder is how quiet it is, you can still talk on the phone whilst the shredder is in use so it's a lot better than other shredders we've had in the office (from past experience). It doesn't seem to eat the 12 pages stated, we use 70gsm paper as it can't seem to handle 12 sheets - struggles, 10 is usually the maximum we put through at a time for quick easy shredding, works for the purposes we need and the paper is shredded very fine so great for confidential documents. Love the fact it has safe sense technology.
The display shows you when the power in on, when it needs to cool down, when the bin is full (although you can see through the viewing window on the front), also lights up to indicate jam and then the last indicator advising you when Safe Sense is in use, reverse button and forward as standard with most shredders.
Has a sleep function when its not been used for a while to save power, although you can turn it off fully with the switch at the back.
Only downside I can see, if you do lots of shredding the bin fills fairly quickly as it's not huge like our previous shredder (although this is supposed to be the comparable model) and although easy to remove the bin - just slides forward isn't as robust as it could be - hence only 4 stars as against 5.
Fantastic with it being on caster so easily movable when required.
Fellowes from past experience also have an amazing Customer Service, we've had issues with a few Fellowes items and they have been replaced free of charge under the manufacturers warranty (as some items have 2 years!) - so we like to stick with a brand we know and like.
A great all round shredder, if it had a bigger big it would have been 5 stars!
