Dissatisfied to find a mistake in the book. It should be full name: Marie Sklodowska Curie as she kept both surnames...

One if them makes her mum read it to her every night before bed, so much so that it's driving her mad!
The other quotes parts of the book back to me. For example she says 'Rosa Parks wasn't allowed to get on a bus because of her skin but she did it anyways' for that alone it's money well spent :)
The book is well written and easy for a child to understand with beautiful illustrations.
There are loads of fun pictures and facts about these people and their achievements and contributions to the world.
I am pleased with the book and also enjoyed reading it myself. At the back of the book there is a list of some words that children may find that they are not familiar with such as suffragette, radioactive, persecuted, aztecs and others. I think it is a book that will help curious young minds learn plenty about these women. Some of the names in the book are Mary Seacole, Anne Frank, Rosa Park, Amelia Earhart, Frida Kahlo and many more.
The printing is very good and the illustrations are great too.
Originally bought as a present for a friend, but it is so good we are now keeping.
My son has found it very interesting and has sparked very interesting conversations.
It's a great book visually, but it's not the best true history guide and it is rather short in total. Honestly I didn't really agree with including some of the women, like Coco Chanel.
I rather wish the creators could have possibly included some still-living iconic women too, instead of only historical figures.

Inspiring stories of famous women who have made history, told along with plenty of colourful illustrations.
I'm hoping that the recipient will see there's more to life than posing with a pouty face!
The writing might be a bit advanced for some younger children, but with all the pictures it can still be fun to read along with someone older to help.
