"Christopher Edge, who creates brilliant, plotty novels with agglomerations of science and maths, has surpassed himself with his latest story…Gamers will love this mad, intense thriller... reminiscent of Lord of the Flies, Squid Game and the Indiana Jones films…Perfect for puzzle-hungry beginner horror fans who require lashings of jeopardy " – Alex O’Connell, The Times
“This is an intense, rollercoaster of a read, with an almighty twist towards the end that caught me completely off guard. Perfect for readers who like fast-paced, spine-tingling reads.” – Sarah Webb, The Irish Independent

When twelve-year-old Ami arrives at The Escape, she thinks it's just a game - the ultimate escape room with puzzles and challenges to beat before time runs out. Meeting her teammates, Adjoa, Ibrahim, Oscar and Min, Ami learns from the Host that they have been chosen to save the world and they must work together to find the Answer. But as he locks them inside the first room, they quickly realise this is no ordinary game.
From a cavernous library of dust to an ancient Mayan tomb, a deserted shopping mall stalked by extinct animals to the command module of a spaceship heading to Mars, the perils of The Escape seem endless. Can Ami and her friends find the Answer before it's too late?

A very clever story with a huge plot twist you’de never expect for an ending. Highly recommend. I was hooked and devoured it and I’m 27. A well deserved four stars from me.
Stuffed full of twists and turns, events do not slow down in this terrifically paced novel and, as always with Edge's books, there is a plot twist that could never be expected.
I fully intend to read this book aloud to my class and expect them to be as gripped with the storyline as I was.

Really enjoyed this book! The language used is gorgeous and glorious, allowing for an exciting and thrilling journey. The description of both characters and setting allow for an intrepid experience, and the book acts as a great introduction to an adventure text. You really champion Ami (the protagonist) throughout, admiring her courage and determination. The ending was a surprise, but cleverly mastered with clues woven throughout. Looking forward to sharing this text with my students.
It's sure to be an enormous hit in the classroom.

So much better than a chocolate egg. It lasted longer as well.
