This game is made with good quality materials and is completely simple and easy to set up, all you need to do is unroll the smooth sheet and hold it down with the rods at both ends, then you're good to go. It can be played on a long table or the floor/ ground. The pieces you slide over the sheet are very cleverly designed, a ball bearing makes them virtually friction free, which makes the game a good deal less predictable and more fun for everyone. It also means young and old can play the game together and genuinely enjoy it. Previously my children have played Carrom/Karom (not sure how it's spelt) which is good fun but the board is huge and the rules can be tricky for little ones if it's played properly - I prefer this curling game because it can be folded away, hardly takes up any storage space, and it's accessible to younger children and fun for older children and adults. I have a large family containing teenagers and younger children and they were able to play this game together, which is helps them get on and keeps the volume/bickering down and helps keep me sane. It can also be used to teach older children about Newton's first law and friction if you are that way inclined - it would be a good game for science classes everywhere.
To conclude; I'd heartily recommend this game for grandparents/taking on holiday/family reunions, it is a brilliant game to take out for an afternoon, or for a few consecutive days when you want some screen-free fun family time.
